If you would, put aside your love or hatred for the New York Yankees and please read a bit about him. I'm a die-hard, midnight-blue NYY fan and I grew up watching him play and listening to the games he played in. They don't make ballplayers like him nowadays. He very recently passed away in his 80's.

  I remember old Hank well. He was surely inspirational, like most all Yankee ball players were in those days. He seems to have inspired Mantle with his chastisement for not running out ground balls, since the Mick became the fastest man in baseball from home plate to first base...in less than three seconds.
