Who has THE Rarest .22?
I don't have anything particularly rare,or valuable, for that matter. I'm interested in old, rare and/or valuable .22 rifles. Does anyone here have such a gun? If so,would you mind posting a pic? TIA.

Nope, you're not correct. There are a lot mentioned here that I don't have and want. But I do have a few that fit the criteria.
Winchester Thumbtrigger
Winchester 1906 Expert
Winchester model 59
Winchester model 56, .22 short only
Winchester model 63, factory scoped
Winchester model 69 Dual Sight
Winchester model 67 Youth
Winchester model 1906, third model .22 short
Winder Musket
Remington #6 rolling block
Remington #4 falling block
Hamilton model 027
Probably one of the rarest is the model 59, only about 9,000 produced for one year in 1930.

And maybe a few others.[:)]0 -
Hehehe! Today I purchased a Taurus stainless 9 shot .22 4 inch barrell revolver for $329.00 brand new at Cabelas. Along with the purchase I got a free $75.00 gift card and stocked up on 2 cent per round Federal .22 copper jacket hollow point ammo.
I doubt that the 9 shot is rare, but I have never seen one before nor do I know of anyone who has one. But I just wanted a chance to brag about my new purchse.0 -
I have an old Meriden .22 around here somewhere!!! 0 -
I KNEW I could count on wundudnee(and some others) to come up with the goods! Thank you all!
Just to keep it going, here are a couple of mine. Nothing too valuable or rare, except to me...
Early '70's Belgian Browning auto w/Redfield 4x scope
[img][/img]
1937 Remington mdl.37 "RangeMaster" w/ Lyman 30x SuperTargetSpot scope
[img][/img]
Late 1800's Steven's "Favorite" in pristine condition!
[img][/img]
Pair of Remington mdl.121's. The top one is a 1948 & about 95%. The bottom is a 1954 in 98%. That's not freckling, just poor photography.
[img][/img]
Winchester mdl.1903 in .22 Win.Auto NOT .22L.R. Condition is 90%+
[img][/img]
Remington 541's. Only 2 are mine. One is Fugawe's.

Read this post also, so I'm replying. 0 -
I've got a Wards WesternField Model 62 .22 single shot rifle that I'm certain is a Savage/Stevens.
However it appears on no Store Brand to MFG cross reference list.
And after much internet research and posting pics on 2 Savage Collector forums, still no ID of what MFG model it is.
No one knows. No documentation what-so-ever.
Evidently a one of a kind.0 -
Not the rarest, but I have my fathers' Win. 74 made in 1939, .22 short only. Still shoots more accurate than my 10/22 with LR's. 0 -

might be a bit rare, as i dont see any around.
Savage/Springfield 120A single shot
was a rusted broken stock pos when i got it for $10
the time i spent carving and checkering is probably worth more than the whold gun, but its mine and it's what i wanted
You certainly spun some oldmagic with this one! Nice.0 -
Well here is the oldest one I own:
It is a Hamilton Model 27. http://home.comcast.net/~jimringbauer/model27.html
I got this from my grandpa a couple years ago and hope to restore it sometime soon.
Now these two are 2 semi rare as I built/modified them [:D]. They are just 10/22's though and both still need more work.

Had a Flobert, but I sold it. 0 -
I've got 1 of 250 Browning BL22's with nickeled barrel and receiver with silver laminated stock. Not old, but 1 of 250 isn't common either. 0 -
I did at one time. I made one out of a couple scraps of re-bar, homemade striker, and a couple of springs. Actually fired it a few times. So as having 1 of 1 I win. 0 -
I have two guns I was given when my Grandfather passed away.. one is a Stevens "visible loading" pump, and the other is a Remington 1 1/2 rolling block. The Stevens is now a wall hanger, and the Remington will shoot fairly well, but it's no tackdriver. 0 -
Marlin 60.[:D] 0 -
Neat, anything we posted in this thread before is now 2 years, 2 months, and 12 days older! [:D] 0 -
I have 3 22s all with rare serial numbers (no other 22 of the same make and model has the same serial number as mine[:D])
None of mine are rare, but my wife's does wear real ivory grips.0 -

I have never seen another one like it. If you can find one let me know. Not even sure who makes it. Only know that it is made in japan.

Two I'll toss in the ring-
(1) Daisy VL 22- used a caseless 22 cartridge, only made for 2 years- there was a collector's version- 1000 total- made with a wooden stock.
(2) Mossberg TARGO- 22 Shotshell. Smoothbore. Had a couple of screw on barrel extensions- one rifled, one smoothbore. Had a minature trap thrower for tiny little clay pigeons- it mounted on the barrel of the gun.0 -

Unless you got paperwork and a tax stamp on the middle one your'e gonna get your tit in a wringer. That qualifies as a SBR and since it did not start out as one it needs a 200.00 Tax stamp and paperwork from Uncle Sugar.0 -
At one time I had a Winchester Model 52C Sporter made in 1948
Also had a prewar K-22 Masterpiece with a 4" barrel0
