    Here in Kentucky we call it 'hoggin' and it's a fairly popular sport, where getting to the water is the most dangerous thing about it (Copperheads, don't you know?).

    We call it noodling. We do it on Barkley lake around lake barkley lodge. Biggest danger is cutting your legs on the rocks. Biggest thing to remember is not to pull your hand out when the catfish bites down on it. It will rip the skin off the back of your hands.
