The directions are easy
My wife and I went away for a few days down to Tuscon. When she asked the young lady at the hotel for directions as to how to get there, the young lady replied "Get off of I-10 at Speedway exit and I think you go left - uh east - but I'm really not sure. Just look for a mountain and drive away from it and you'll find us."
FWIW, there was a modest mountain range off of both sides of the highway, almosot in direct line with each other.[:D][:0]

I've been going to Tucson for probably fifteen years. Every time I've been there they are working on the freeway and the way they drive it's a pain with a horse trailer.
Friday we went to the Desert Sonoran Museum and suprise they had lanes closed on the 10 [:D]0 -
...True story: I had to find a house once that was in the boonies....all roads were kelechie rock, no signs. Asked at a one pump gas station for directions. Part of the directions included "look for a big brown dog laying under an oak tree, turn left at the dog"...[:0][:D]

Men use logic when trying to get somewhere (turn right at the 3rd light onto 5th street), women use landmarks (turn at the old building with the yellow awning and pink drapes in the window - I'm not sure what street it is, you'll know it when you see it). 0 -
Seems like wimmins often don't no which way north, south, east, west is. 0 -
Ask me next time slowhand, I will hit mapquest for you and get the directions. Coulda also told you about some places to eat, look for Indian art and go shooting with Mercury. Decent gun shop down there too. Yeah, just one as far as I can tell. 0 -

Really?, around here I'd say it was just the opposite. The men don't care what the road number might be, they tend to drive by the visual landmarks.
I prefer landmarks, but maybe I have spent too much time in the backwoods areas of Canada where they don't have road signs.[:)]0 -

My wife was there partly on business but I made it a point to visit West of the Pecos, Murphy's and 2nd Amendment Sports (formerly Jensen's). We did the hotel lounge for grub the first night and P.F. Chang's the next. Both turned out good. A nice 3-day respite from all of the hubbub. The weather cooperated too.0 -
West of the Pecos is the only decent gun shop in town, and they suffer from the "MY STUFF IS WORTH GOLD!!!!!" syndrome.
As far as the mountains.......there is only ONE set of mountains near the freeway. Not sure what you were looking at.......hehehe.....

Once I asked a lady for directions to a doctor's office in another town.
She went on and on with directions through 5 or 6 intersections. When I got to the town I noticed that she had me following the State Road, which was clearly marked. [:0]0 -

I-10 between Pheonix and Tuson confuses alot of people. I-10 runs east and west, but through there you are going north and south. If you are going east on I-10 (actually going south) and exit alot of the locals will say to go north off the exit (left) which actually means you are going east!
If you don't know the area out there the locals will get you flat out lost!0 -

There were definitely two modest ranges (?) or perhaps I should call them just a few mountains on one side (right) and a range well in the distance off the highway (left) at that exit. My wife noticed it right away and started shaking her head, laughing about it.0 -
Out here along Colorado's Front Range, you drive __ minutes (north - mountains on your left, south - mountains on your right, east - away from the mountains, west - toward the mountains).
No miles, no street names, no exit names. Everything is measured in time and how you're facing the mountains.0 -
Poor tourists in Waikiki get lost. Local directions are not North South etc, but mauka (towards the mountains) makai (towards ocean) Diamond Head (East of Honolulu) or Ewa (pronounced Eva- old sugar town West of Honolulu. Directions may be "Go 3 blocks Ewa, 5 blocks Makai, on Diamond Head side." Poor Japanese tourists are REALLY puzzled! [:p] 0 -
A while back I was trying to find the Community Center in Clover. I got directions from a guy at the gas station. He told me to go back down the same road I came in on and take a right at the Post Office. Go down that road a ways and take a left where the old schoolhouse used to be. 0 -
