The Colt My Friend Gave me...:)Thanks Hairy!
...Boy, what a nice jesture. I just made mention that after the first of the year I was going to get a few of the pocket and vest pocket model 1903/1908 small cal Colts; to give my bigger 1911's some company. Well, it wasn't no time and this showed up at my door, yes, I do have an FFL.

...Of all the Colt's I have, this one is the only one that actually "means" something to me; because it was given to me with friendship in mind, from a friend.
...Oh, we are 180 degrees apart when it comes to politics but we never disscuss politics on the phone or in em's; just goes to show you that people can have very different views on some things and and yet have a lot of things in common and still be good friends. I consider it an honor for him to call me a freind.
...This forum suffered a loss when he stopped posting, whether some agree with that or not, it is the forums loss.
...Thank you Hairy for the very nice Colt Model 1903 .32...[;)]

And, by the way, nice Colt and a great gift!0 -
WTG Hairy... I still have a pair of Colt grips for one of them that my Dad had in a box of WWII stuff. 0 -
Hairy is known for his kindness and I to am proud to have him as my friend as we only live a mile or so from each other.. One could only hope to have a TRUE friend such as him... 0 -
Very nice gesture. Is Hairy back on the boards? I haven't seen him post in quite sometime. 0 -
...You said it Larry. As I came to know him, I came to appreciate the person he is. I told him a year ago he was welcome to break bread at my table anytime. I hope to visit him someday to break that bread...[^]

Despite our differences, and despite what some of you might think, HAIRY is a gentleman of honor, and I, too, would be proud to break bread with him, at his place or mine, or somewhere in between. I have never met him in person, but I am proud to call him "friend." 0 -
Hairy and I first met over some very bad circumstances...Classic was in the hospital with colon cancer, and even though we lived in the same city we did not know each other...We came to know each other thru this forum...
I posted about Classic being in the hospital so soon after we married and Hairy was right there...He and Larry spent time together talking guns, army, you name it, they talked about it...
Hairy is a sweet, generous man who would give the shirt off his back to you if needed....We have spent many hours with him and his wife (my closest and dearest friend) ..
Hairy...we luvs ya...0 -
I'm still waiting for one of his Lugers, anyone, I'm not picky!![:D]
WTG, Hairy. Hope you'll resume posting. You have a lot of friends here.0 -
I thought we weren't supposed to mention the Hair thingy, or was the DancesWithSheep? I forget.

I could not agree more...Hairy is a fine man.0 -
Hairy and I may disagree on politics and religion, but he is an honorable man. Hairy, hope to see you back soon! 0 -
Hairy kept this forum jumping. To bad he got a bad case of orangoutan flu and white line fever. 0 -
I find it both amusing and saddening that you have to make mention that you're an FFL to stem the tide of the usual cadre of know-it-all ninnies who just HAVE to tell you, recite, or gurgle forth their interpretation of gun laws.
Good gift. Sounds like a great friend.

Hairy logged on to the forum today. He's still watching, just not participating anymore, for whatever reason...
I didn't always agree with him, but I always found his arguments to be well-reasoned.
I'd like to see him back, sooner rather than later.0 -
When I first started "observing" this forum it was Hairy that made me keep coming back just to see what he had to say. I didn't always agree with him but that's what this is all about. Unfortunatly, by the time I decided to participate he was done posting. I would like to see him back. 0 -
Now we can talk about HAIRY?
Good.
My best wishes, and a tip of the hat to ya HAIRY.
That looks like a fine little Colt.0 -

I don't know if I ever agreed with Hairy, and we had some heated arguments, details of which I can't remember. But he was very difficult to debate. Dang guy always does research!! He has my respect and has had my ire. Miss arguing with him.0 -
Hairy was/is a prime reason why folks like me avoid this forum.
(A lie. HAIRY has not posted in ages)
More of this former member's hateful rhetoric removed. nunn0 -
Hairy is a very good man, and he is my friend. And yes he is charitable and generous. 0 -

I've been the victim of Hairy's arrogance in the past. But he's one of the best-informed, most intelligent posters here on GB, and I miss his well-written tirades. I'd be happy to break bread (or wind, for that matter)with him any time. I figure I'd probably learn something. 0 -
..Well I see that the vast majority of the people who replied, replied in a dignified way, that was to be exspected by the ones who replied in a respectful, positive way.
...Hairy is a very honorable man, more of a man than several here could ever hope to be no matter how hard they strive toward that, or for that matter even KNOW what it is to be a real man; but then again, I doubt they have the backbone, innititive. intellect, or fortitude to achive what Hairy has achieved. AS I and others have said, the forum was a better place for Hairy being here.
Speaking of personal attacks, and childishness, and other remarks that make those afore mentioned childish actions look like compliments; there was a member whom attained the appittamy of the meanning of those adjectives, and you know who you are.
...You are either a child at mind if not by age, you are the foulest of the low, I'll do you a favor and not name you as other good, honorable members are not into your depraved thoughts, would be apauled and I am sure you would be shunned for the word puke you spewed; and you my friend have to live with what you said.
IVE FOUND IN MY 50+ YEARS THE WEAK MINDED AND MOST INADEQUATE COMPENSTATE WITH DRIVEL AND PERSONAL ATTACKS, AND BOAST THE LOUDEST, YOU MY FRIEND, FIT THIS DESCRIPTION
Thanks to all that had the kind words to say about Hairy and the Colt [:D] The kind words spoken by the "good guys", of which there are many, illustrate why this continues to survive as a great forum, despite the few obnoxiuos, immature, and extremely irrelevant people...and still retains a fine membership of good, honest men. Hairy is doing well, and I have all the faith he will continue to do so...best to you my friend as always, and thanks again...[^]

This was indeed a very nice gesture. I admit that I have held a low opinion of Hairy because of his politics. Once again I learn not to form opinions of people just because they don't agree with me. [:I] 0 -
...Calamity, a couple of years ago I went toe to toe and around and around with Hairy about his political ideas. I ragged him, but not in a personal manner.
He always had his ducks in a row too, I suspect that is why those inclined to use personal attacks would use them against him because he could/would verbally beat them to a pulp with facts; and that was all they could come back with, BS, the offense of the ignorant.
Once I got to know him it made me realize just what you just stated,
though I have a ways to go with others...but I'm trying...[;)]

Nice little Colt pocket automatic! Bravo to Hairy for his generosity. I'm happy to say that Hairy and I never had any conflicts. Whether we agreed, or disagreed on a particular subject. It's truly sad to know that he was run off. There have been several people run off over the years that I've been here. Usually over petty issues that are blown out of proportion. Some have goals in life to make others miserable. Those are the people I like to meet face to face, once. [;)] 0 -
Hairy really does own some guns... [:0]

Sounds like the hair thingy would not lack someone to provide a little "stress relief".
I for one, hope the turtleer stays in his hole.
That notwithstanding, nice little Colt pistol.
