Yeah one dollar might be more reasonable.

I am not trying to make money, just trying to cover the feed cost.
So far I have had them for 5 weeks and they have only gone through about 7 dollars worth of feed.
When they are full grown I hope they don't eat as much as now[:o)]

Green eggs cost more, especially with ham.

They had me laughing so hard last night I couldn't hardly stand up.
I was in their little house when they started going crazy trying catch a moth.
It is one of the funniest things I have ever watched. Maybe I am just easily amused,
So today I caught a couple moths and threw them in their house.
They are easy to tame too. If i sit in one place they jump up on my shoulders.
A couple days ago I had three on my shoulders and one on my head.

They poop whenever the mood takes them too. You will also get a good laugh out of that.[:p]

I sell mine for $1.25 a dozen, and I lose money on feed. I keep chickens just so I can eat fresh eggs myself.

PITA if you ask me, but worth it for the flavor of free range eggs.

You are not easily amused...You take delight in life's moments...You are the type to always have a child's outlook, you always see the good...

Dont ever lose it....Too many ppl do, or they ignore it and become hardened...by the way, hold one on its back..stroke under its beak...will go soundly OUT!!...wakes up real quick though when stood on its feet..

Better learn how to candle eggs too hon...you dont want some squemish person, be it male or female, finding blood in one of them...or do what my mom did....a neighbor was giving her eggs...the neighbor didnt always get out to find the "hiding" spots...Mom cracked an egg into the frying pan and there was a partially developed chick..so learn how to candle...

Brown eggs round here are just a tad more than white, so yes you could ask 2.00 bucks ...but 1.50 to 1.75 does sound better........but farm fresh, free range, ohh gosh, having them catch bugs, eat grass, more bugs *LOL you end up with nice orangy yolks and those, well I would pay dearly for them...I miss having my own eggs...my chickens ran all over the yard when I was raising them....

    2 bucks is fair since they are 4.25 in the store now for farm raised{not just the plain brown eggs}

they can be pretty cool, i built an incubator out of a freezer once that was neat, but they can be pretty gross too, wait till one gets a wound and shows a small drop of blood, they will jump on it like vultures, and eat it alive, i saw one catch a mouse once in its beak, then slammed it in the ground and swallowed it whole, i had two rooster go at it once, my big one won{appeared the other conceited, not to the death or near it}, another one was watching, when it was over he jumped in for a shot at the tittle, he hung his head in shame too

    $1.00 a dozen here also.

Bobwhite quail and Ringneck pheasant eggs bring $3.00 each. Yes that is three dollars for one egg.

BR makes a good point - "covering the cost of feed" may be OK if you're just picking them up and passing them on. I think the $2 a dozen guy I know washes and candles them. He gives the occasional free dozen to folks who "recycle" cartons to him.

Depending on the state your in, you could be TAX exempt. on the price of feed. Here in Ky if your eating and selling eggs it's exempt. Thats about 1.20 savings a week. or 4.80 a mo. or 57.60 a year. Get your feed at the mill. or grain wharehouse.

If people want to pay $2.00 and think that's cheap, take the $2.00. [:)]

The local farmers around here get $1 a dozen for their brown eggs. They are also almost twice as big as the one's from the store. They are huge!
