It's supposed to be illegal to buy from the people in line for a "buy back" here in PA, but I have heard atleast one story of some good finds outside in line! Good Luck!

Our local civil rights champion is doing a buy-back next weekend. They are only offering $20 per gun. All they get is worthless junk that doesn't fire anymore.

I wonder if the police departments involved in these operations check the serial numbers against those of weapons reported as stolen and then try to return the guns to their rightful owners?

I truly wish you all the luck in the world, but I assure you if you try to do the right thing in my eye's anyway. You will quicly be escorted off of the property, cause they arent going to let that happen. Im sure they will be some nice guns brought in too, every senior citizn wants to safely get rid of their late husbands scatter gun and the nice old Colt thats been underr the mattress because she didnt know what to do with it.[B)]

Wouldnt surprise me if some of the truly nice pieces ended up being "returned" to their NEW "rightful" owners, if you get what I mean.

Don't know about Mobile, but here in VA, any gun "buyback" must be attended by VA State police- they DO run SNs, and if there is one that has been reported as stolen, it MUST be returned to the owner. otherwise, the "buyback" folks are participating in a criminal action- recieving stolen property.

Then why don't our gun rights groups sue?

So far, I've dug up three long guns and one revolver to take. Now is when I wish I took Hi-Points, Lorcins, Jennings, Brycos, Stallards, and S&W automatics in on pawn.[}:)]

Wish they'd do buy-backs here in Kansas, leastwise I've never heard of one here.

Guess there's a good side to being in the middle of the country where it takes twenty years to catch up with either coast.

For some reason, I just can't picture a gang banger (or any criminal planning on using the weapon for crime) walking up, handing over his full auto uzi, taking his 100 dollar Walmart gift card and giving the cop a firm handshake at the end of the transaction. Just doesn't compute. [:o)][V]

Gun buy backs should be federally banned.

One of the local County's here sold all of their replaced Generation II Glocks for Generation III Models. They also sold their confiscated guns to a large company. However the Officer's could buy their old Duty weapons if they wished to do so.

I turned in a couple of useless junkers for pairs of hockey tickets. I also turned in one of those finish it yourself .45 cal cannons. The cop that was takeing them tried to buy it from me for twenty dollars. No way, two hockey tickets are worth more than that. Then a day or two later they had pictures of some of the items turned in in the newspaper. There was my cannon & the picture made it look like a full size one to anyone that didn't know better.
