    I wish he would get off the fence, and enter the race!
    He is running neck and neck with Gulliani, in several polls. Granted it is a bit early to give much credence to polls at this point.
    I think it would really shake up the scene.[8D]

    ...Last I heard (week/10 days ago?) he said he WAS going to run, just hasn't "officially" thrown is hat in as of yet...I have no idea why these guys announce, then formerly announce; except for the rules/paperwork involved with one being "officially" in the race...[;)]

    Who believes that Fred Thompson really is a Washington Outsider? Does anyone here believe that he can raise enough money from the little folks to run an effective campaign? This, without him bowing down to the movers and shakers in American government who are forcing the Bush-Kennedy-McCain Amnesty Bill down the throats of most all citizens. Does it make sense that the GOP would back Fred Thompson, especially with him being from the deep south, and not Duncan Hunter, Tommy Thompson, Tom Tancredo and the like? Think about that, Fred is a deep south fellow who does not fit the mold of a liberal like Carter. Why is the GOP so hungry for Fred to run? I'd say that if Fred does run, and he does not pick a running mate with a Minuteman attitude toward illegal aliens, then the American people will pretty much know that Fred Thompson is not a Washington Outsider.

    If Fred Thompson can continue with this type of plain common-sense talk he will do well.

    As kimi noted, however, the proof is in the pudding, and he has not yet had to face the cold hard economic facts of a Presidential Run. Talk like that found in the link above, if he can continue it, will take him a long way with Americans from both parties.

    from what I saw on a FOX News interview I think he is looking to come into the race around the 4th of July. At least there was some talk about that being the date.

    I do at that Marc. And, I'm hoping that Fred's our man. I hate to be the worst critic of someone who just might have the capacity to know how it feels to be a plain old American citizen.

    I'm just crazy about Fred Thompson! He's the absolute greatest! He's got that great voice and face, and he's so cool on TV, and he was a senator for a bit, and he's just great!

    And you know why I like him so much? Because he's going to STAND UP FOR AMERICA! And he's going to GET TOUGH ON TAXES and CUT WASTEFUL SPENDING! And he's PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN! And he wants WASHINGTON TO WORK FOR THE AVERAGE AMERICAN! And he's AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS! And he wants to PROTECT AMERICAN JOBS! And he wants to PROTECT OUR RIGHTS! And he's PROUD TO FLY THE FLAG!

    Yes, Fred Thompson is going to take on all those politicians who are pro wasteful spending, who are not proud to be Americans, who are for illegal drugs, who want to give away American jobs, and who hate to fly the flag. Yes, Fred Thompson is going to take a bold stand and get right after those people.

    Anybody who thinks you're getting anything different from Fred Thompson than you'd get from all the Republicans running truly believes there is a vast difference between 1% and 2% milk.

    There is a 1% difference, and even that is better than nothing.
    2% milk will clog up my arteries quicker than 1%,.......so the difference to me is how quickly my "intestines" will become clogged with BS![;)]

    You need to change Republicans TO POLITICIANS,,,,all of them are worthless no matter the party,they will lie to your face just to get a vote,,at least Thompson seams more like a good ole boy

    Let's hope,......the VP choice will make the big difference though,.........I will still hope for Tancredo.

    ...To some degree, there is always something about a canidate one does not like, that, is how it should be, hell I don't agree with my wife 100% and I sleep with her...so heck, I think I just WON'T vote; that will show 'em alright...[;)]

    Colt,.......I get your point, but I know you will vote!
    It is tough, but we have to be able to look at ourselves in the mirror!
    Sometimes I feel like not going to the trouble, but then I think of the good people that have died to allow us to continue this right.
    I will always vote, even if some consider it a waste,.........and I will admit that I have gone by the ole "lesser of two evils" theme before.
    We can only do what we can do,........until more is necessary.[;)]

    Fred Thompson sits the image of the perfect conservative. He has not said a thing. People are imaging him to be what they want in a conservative candidate.

    I still support him. The top tier candidates are not conservative enough.

    Thats what we need right there. A plain old American not the political scum sucking leechs we have in office now for the most part.

    My opinion is Fred in his younger years might have made a good president, but the man is just not able now. Have you looked at him and compare him to just a few years ago. Honest Abe seemed to be in better health after going through the Civil War.

    Did you hear how proud he was of asking the question that got Butterfingers to blab about the White House taping machine?
    That means he was the one that brought down Nixon AND he was the one who caused us to lose the Vietnam War. For that you want to reward him with the Presidency?
