Water Beds
Does anyone still sleep on one? I almost bought one. But then I called all my friends who had one and asked. All had moved them to the guest room.

I sleep on a softsided waveless. I love it. Being a child of the 70's I have always had a waterbed and a bead curtain.0 -

We sleep on a Watermatress bed. The matress sits on box springs, then you put tubes of water, more water for a stiffer feel, in the mattress. A small cousion goes over than then zips into one package. We like it, except we've broken a few tubes.[;)] 0 -

my wife had one when we got married over 20yrs ago,,we are still sleeping on it,,she would give me up before she would that blasted bed,,I have had to rebuild it a couple times and I think we are on our 5th bladder,,,as mr Nunn said in another post,,its great for other things besides sleeping but I would rather have a big old pillow top mattress to sleep on,,does not matter much to me though seeing how I sleep in a hotel 4/5 nights a week anyway..so she can keep it 0 -

Every dang time I got home late and drunk - threw myself in the bed - she was up with a bang and cursing at me..

The only good thing about the water bed we junked out 12 years ago(It belonged to my wife when I met her) was It was warm to crawl into at night. 0 -
I've slept on a free flow king-size waterbed since purchaseing my first home in 1977 ... since then I've replaced 2 heaters and 2 mattress's ... never had a back problem yet and hopeing I never do! 0 -
The heater sucks a lot of juice your electric bill will go down 30 dollars a mounth if you dont use it however its hard to sleep in a cold bed. I do not think they are worth the headache, I too would rather have a pillow top. 0 -

Never could stand a waterbed. We've had an airbed since 1990 when I injured my shoulder and neck. Only way I could sleep at night. They are the best for anyone with a neck or back injury. 0 -
Funny we also moved a Queen size waveless water bedroom suit we bought a good while back to a guest room as well. I liked it but my wife didnt and it wasnt big enough we didnt use it for very long at all. We should have bought the King size bed. Now my wife adds something to the water every month and thats about it. If we have guest they usually sleep in one of the other guest rooms. Ive also heard they were not good for people with a bad back. 0 -
Took a long time to give up the waterbed. (Didn't want to loose the heat)
Finally got a mattress pad warmer, and an air bed. It's great.
Back did better once I gave up the waterbed.0 -
Have had a waveless California King(7'8" X 7'8")for the last 30 years.
I'm on my second bladder, second thermostat, third set of underbed drawers,and still no back problems.
Did you guys listen to the hippie that sold you the bed when he told you how to add water for a firmer mattress, and let some out if your back hurts?
Love the heated bed thing; sometimes coming in from driving a snowplow for 9 hours with no heat but my Zero Zones, it's the next best thing to putting 'em all in the black!
After I stabilized/filled the bed, add the bottle of clorox(?) they gave me, then a shot every 5-6 years of that vinyl relaxer or whatever it is that makes the whole house smell like warm, wet, plastic, and yer done.0 -

We had one a few years back. The best thing we ever did was the day we got rid of it. Drained most of the water out, pulled it outside, let the kids stab it a few times to drain the rest of the water, then the whole bed went on a brush pile and was burnt. Nice Fire![:D]0 -
Get a nautilus or a sleep number. 100 times better when each side has adjustability.

Please don't get a waterbed. They're so horrible for your back. Go with incredi beds. I've known several people who have owned waterbeds that have lived to regret it and have had numerous back injuries because of them. 0 -

I'm 54 and as mentioned above, have slept on one since 1977; 34 years ... I asked my wife when we moved 2 years ago if she wanted to get a conventional bed ... much to my relife, she said "Hell No!" Actually, ours probably saves more energy than it costs as the wife keeps the house a bit warm for my liking in the summer and a bit cooler than my liking in the winter ... the bed is always perfect!0 -

nope ..many years gone...wife got some type of pillowtop deal for bed at cabin and it is GREAT 0 -
We have a king waterbed frame, with the bookcase headboard and drawer pedestal, but we have a Select Comfort mattress in the frame. They make a waterbed replacement mattress that has the correct dimensions. 0 -
I love mine.
I hate trying to put sheets on it.
If there was a better way to put sheets on it I would call it perfect.0 -
I miss mine soooooo bad,had one for 20 plus yrs. Pillow top is ok but never replaced that water bed, full wave rocked in more ways than one[;)] 0 -

I've never slept in one, but good friends of ours work in the cow business. They tend to move to a new job every couple of years, and I'd help with the move. That dang waterbed of theirs was a beach to move! So without ever trying to sleep in one, I hate the dang things. 0
