the military channel replays the same 20-30 shows, rarely is something new. 0 -
I watch it all the time.
wishing I would have stayed in. My cousin was smart, stayed along time.0 -

SuburbanNoize
I did not know that they had that many shows.
I wonder who did the voting if it is the same show that I have saw.
I could not beleive how low the AK47 ranked in the top 10.
If anyone knows even the slightest about history and military infantry weapons they would tell you that the AK47 was and still is the greatest infantry weapon ever producded.0 -
I think the AK scored low on account of the fact that's it's uglier than Rosie O'Donnel during that time of the month.[;)][:D] 0 -

I've seen that show before. Excellent program. If memory serves me the Garand and the M-16 were ahead of the AK.
If I had a Steyr Aug, I would have one of each. Coulda, shoulda.0 -
did not realize how many top ten I had. 0 -
what were the top 10??? 0 -
10 M14
9. STURMGEWEHR 44
8. 1903 SPRINGFIELD
7. STEYR AUG
6. MAUSER K98k CARBINE
5. FN FAL
4. M1 GARAND
3. LEE-ENFIELD SMLE
2. M16
1. AK-470 -
I want to see like the top 50 or something, cause there totally are some other really good combat rifles that didn't get it.
The winchester lever gun, yea, I'd say it was a cutting edge combat rifle for its time.
The Siminov
The Johnson 1941
The HK G36, I mean come on, it pretty much sets the bar for modern poly framed assault rifles. I mean I know the Aug was around first, but aren't more countries already using the G36 than the Aug?
The israeli Galil and the new Tavor
The HK G3 and CETME
I bet those guys had a really hard time trying to place a numeric order to them....0 -
At least they got #1 and #2 right. 0 -
41 johnson. ha. ever try to bayonet someone with one?
boing![8]0 -
Isn't a "combat rifle" the same as an "assault rifle?" 0 -

I thought then and think now that this list is ridiculous. I can agree with the AK as number one. Though I loathe it I will even let the M16 stay in the list, but it should be lower down; the Garand should be number two. Then the M16. Then the SMLE, that's fine at number 4. The FN? I wouldn't even put it on the list, but if I did, lower down. The Mosin Nagant should be on there. The Steyr Aug should not. The Lebel should in virtue that it was the most revolutionary step forward in a battle rifle ever due to smokeless powder. In short, that list is pretty f'ed up.0 -

STG-44 probably should not be,
sure it was the first "assault rifle" but it was heavy and clunky. If Germany was not desperate for superweapons the gun should have been in development for 2-3 more years.0 -
I'm not sure what a K98k carbine even is. This is triple redundancy.
Gewehr (rifle) model 1898.
Karabiner (carbine) 98
The 98k is not a true carbine. Hence, the name SHOULD be Gewehr 98, kurz (short) as it is a short rifle. So 98k is fine. The K in front of it is puzzling- K98k would indicate a short carbine (images of the Dutch 1948 police carbine come to mind) but it was one of those "fool the Versailles powers" moves I'm sure. But to add 'carbine' onto the final name, what we have is:
Karabiner 98 kurz carbine
Carbine 98 short carbine

What I'm criticizing here is the Germans on one hand, the military channel on the other, and only Kimbercolt if he did it intentionally with the intent to irritate German grammar nutjobs like me. [;)]0 -
The AK is on there only because it is incredibly cheap and is issued to people whose leaders could care less about their survival. It is a junk weapon. 0 -

As opposed to the M16, which as originally issued did not have a cleaning kit or chromed chamber, and jammed constantly. Yes, because governments that really care about their soldiers issue them tempermental rifles that often sieze right in the middle of a fight.0 -

I guess their is a good reason they call you an "Old Fool"!
If you think it is a junk weapon you are either a fool or just plain stupid!0 -
It's not a rifle but how can you leave the Brown Bess musket off any list? 0
