Shooting Rimfire Taurus Pump/SA Rifles
Taurus has been selling copies of old Winchester 62 and 63's in SA and Pump.....22 22mag and 17HMR. I saw a June 2003 Gun test article on the pump, and it was not very accurate even compared to a real Winchester from about 50 years earlier. The Henry pump came out the best.
Has anybody here owned one of these replicas and shot tested it?

I have a Rossi clone in 22 WMR and it is very accurate. Always loved the sound of working the action since growing up with a similar Winchester '06 .22 pump. Taurus took over these from Rossi and added the safety doo hickey on top. What do you mean by SA by the way? 0 -

I have a Taurus pump stainless .22. I blew a rat's head off in my house at about 5 yards. That's accurate enough for me.[:D] 0 -
I have a stainless carbine in 22LR, and a friend has a full sized blue one in 22WMR. They both are capable of hitting a dime at 25 yards if the shooter does his part. About the only thing I dislike is the safety on top. 0 -

I guess I'll have to find a replacement for Old Yeller (that's my rat's name).
And he was such a GOOD rat.

I love my Taurus 63 copy. Very accurate and reliable. I use to own a Winchester 63 and the Taurus is more accurate. 0 -
I have one. The first time I took it apart I couldn't get it to go back together & neither could the dealer I bought it from. They shipped it back & now it fits fine. Somehow it doesn't seem as slick as the old Winchester I owned but that one had many years of use before I bought it. Considering the light weight, short barrel & the type of sights I believe it shoots as well as can be expected. 0
