I thawed out a couple of packages of venison back strap steaks. Chicken fried them, made gravy, smashed some taters, pigged out. The wife said it was a perfect meal. Since she's the only one I have to satisfy, I'll agree with her. [8D]

Haven't seen one of these in awhile so thought I'd ask.

For me, venison back strap steak pan fried in olive oil with onions, garlic, and peppercorns. Along with it homemade potatoes au gratin and asparagus, first steamed then pan fried for 2 minutes in olive oil and sea salt. Rye bread from the local bakery on the side and a glass of my homemade Cabernet Sauvignon to drink.

    Mmmm.

Grilled Chicken w/ a thin slice of tomato with red onions, baby portobello mushrooms and spinach sauted in butter and fresh minced garlic topped with a thin slice of Swiss cheese. Kosher Salt and Pepper flakes to taste for preparing the chicken.

With 4 fingers of chilled Johnny Walker Red as a chaser

Venison/black bean chili. Just straight 1950's recipe minus the kidney beans and hamburger replaced with ground venison (my farm) and black beans . Oh yeah, 4 Tbl corn meal to thicken..... Used to love Texas Style, but now into country bumpkin simple style....

And here is a small cluster of elk, hard to see but they are there, maybe 700 yards out. The rest of the herd is over the rise about a mile away, these ones are being nosey.

mateomasfeo: It put up a pretty good fight, took about 20 minutes to land. Was using light spinner tackle.
