    That's good news.

How'd you injure it in the first place??

Still can't see worth crap, but it seems like there are less floaters and there is no tunnel vision, but everything is still blurry and there's not pain.

Did you see a doctor yet?

Yep, went to the ER right after I posted. Had bleeding, a torn retina and a slight detachment. They fixed what they could with a laser and now I have to wait for it to heal to see how much damage was done. But, he did say if I had ignored it and gone to bed, I would have either lost the eye or at least been blind in it.

Glad you went to the ER!

I missed the significance of the floaters on your original post and took them to be an aura from a migraine.

My father had that happen to him. His wasn't a dire situation when they discovered it. He went in for that laser procedure (they're basically welding your retina in place) and came out blind in that eye[xx(]. It seems the doc who was doing the operation somehow blocked blood flow to the optic nerve long enough to kill some vital stuff.

Then they told him his other retina was in danger of doing the same thing and they'd like to try the same procedure on that eye. He told them to get bent. That was fifteen years ago. At least he still has the "at risk" eye.

BTW: there's a genetic component to the condition so your kids should get their eyes checked regularly when they get into about their forties.

Did you do anything that caused it or did it just happen? Sorry to hear about it but glad it's getting better.

Good to hear, glad you went to the doctor.
Detached retina would have cost you that eye.

Eye problems must be a commie plot, A friend of mine had the same problem a Mo. ago and then last week my Mr's had to go have her eye check and same thing happened to her. Seems like it take time to heal, glad to here your going to be alright.

AS a diabetic, I kearned years ago that I had to keep an eye and foot doctor looking after me. I almost lost a foot severak times and had over fifteen hits with a laser on my eyes to stop the floaters and bleeders. I suggest you do the same!

Neglectiny my condition has taken away my kidneys and I am now on dialysis for the last 7 yrs. You definately do not want that!
