That sounds like fun to me. I know we have a few members up in the Seattle area and Eastern Washington. I think 2-3 members in the central and southern Oregon area.

Doug and I are both retired so we have a little more time than members working full time jobs. We don't want you to take time off from your jobs because we need you to continue paying into the social security system so Doug and I can eat.

Anyone who wishes to avoid the Social Security system, can send cash directly to us.

We will give you a note exempting you from further SS contributions.

    That sounds good.

Let's wait to see if anyone else is interested for a day or so, and then plan it.

When would you like to do it?

How far are you from Salem??

I don't have a clue where Washougal is.

Remember, I'm old and don't remember well.

I might be able to ride to Oregon in the summer. Or atleast after it stops raining.
I have heard the Portland gunshow is a decent show and maybe that would be a good place to go?

Some of us here are from KY. You guys need to plan a road trip. It's much warmer down here.

Yes, but you have to go to Kentucky.

Portland has a couple of pretty big what they call "gunshows". Plenty of non-gun stuff.

Orygun is a "shall issue" state, and full-auto is OK, so there is usually some interesting stuff at the show.

I'll see if I can find out when it is.

I have met a few from the bowhunting forum and still talk to them regularly. Who would have thought the evil internet would bring good people together. Hope you strike up some new, long lived friendships.

We really got lucky. It turned out that 4 of us lived within an hour of eachother. So now about 3-4 times a year Taco, Bang, Enos, and I get together to converse, and occasionally even hunt. Buckeyboy even made it out from Rhode Island last year with his bro. Through some of them we've even made extended friends outside of the gunbroker community that are good people.

I get over to Forest Grove two or three times a year but I'm retired Air Force so I can't possibly meet your expectations.

Clouder- Did I see you post at one time that you were a weather forcaster? I spent some time up at Kincheloe AF base in the UP of michigan back in the 1960's and knew a couple of weather guys. Ever get up there?

I am ex-AF so if you get up this way give us a heads up we can talk B-52 or F-106. Maybe 101 Voodoo!

    Sig:

I spent the vast majority of my 20 years buried in windowless, stale, secure areas on sites that didn't have runways. Next time I'm over your way, I'll let ya know.
