I think its fake, the "sparks" or whatever would be easily done in Photoshop.

Could be fake, but it does happen. When I worked on the ramp at the a/p in Memphis, saw it happen occasionally when the pilot would either flare too hard on landing or pull up to quick on take-off. Not too much to worry about. The 727's and MD-11's I worked on had skids just for that.

    Fake

At a high enough AOA to cause the nose heavy aircraft to drag it's tail, it would have collapsed the mainmounts.

Also, what are the chances you would have such a perfect shot of such an unusual event?

Plus, look at the windows of the twin buildings. The open windows are 0s and the closed windows are 1s. If you look at the binary code based upon the windows being opened or closed, this is an obvious fake. Check it out yourself if you don't believe me.

Rosie, Ophrah, and Michael Moore had to sit in the back?

They don't have video cameras routinely filming runways for take-offs and landings? I thought it might be a video capture.

My BiL is a pilot (for American coincidentally) so I'll ask him.

Fake, and a poorly done one at that.

Here's a few more pics. The first two are 727's that are thisclose to rubbing their tail skid. The last is an Embraer EM-135 that IS dragging on take-off. As I said before, it happens. The pic from SP does look doctored though.

Fake or real, it is definitely possible if a pilot exceeds the critical angle of attack and other take off parameters.

It is done on every airliner prior to FAA certification to establish minimum take-off parameters. Obviously this is not the case here, but there is no reason that is could not be true.

Great. Now tell me how many bits to their byte. Makes a difference ya know. Octal or hex?
