One should not have to feel a lawyer is needed when you are protecting your own house, but now days it can be in your best interest to have one handy. Glad it worked out ok and I would have done the same thing given your situation. I don't treat unwanted guests kindly. Dave

Hopefully, he isn't the type that seeks revenge against someone that got him thrown in the slammer. [}:)] Just something to keep in mind, since they can't keep him in there forever. [;)]

He got himself thrown in the slammer. Hopefully he can chill long enough to figure this out.

Buddy of mine had a similiar incident backin the early 1980's. Except he fired a shot from his Remington 870 in the air.
Cops took him in and confiscated his shotgun. He was charged w/discharge in city limits. Took over 2 years, a lawyer and a court order to get the gun back. It had been taken home by a detective.

Probably cheaper to buy a new 870

...They asked me a few questions and I got a lawyer first so I wouldn't say something that could get me in trouble...no charges are going to be pressed (there would be hell to pay if some sissy liberal would)...but for now the guy who broke my window is in custody and is looking at a long time in jail with bubba (they found some cocain and other things in his house).

Thank God its over I hope this never happens again...

You just want it to be 'over'...because you can't erase or edit your post in the other thread![;)]
