What's your WIERDEST ammo on hand???
A guy came in who does the gun shows....sells ammo only. He had 30-40 krag ballistic tip ammo and I just HAD to get it.

I have a few oddities:
.30 cal experimental/prototype "tround" for the Dardick, as well as a box with a few .38 special trounds in it.
I also have a few rounds for my gyrojet pistol and carbine.
I have a few shotgun rounds you don't see too often, 4 ga, 8 ga, etc. Fun stuff.

I have the weirdest and passed a few of them off to some individuals here in this forum.. .45 ACP Artillery Practice rounds.. US ARMY WW1 Vintage. One collector told me they never existed but I got the original box with the nomenclature and stock number for them..There is no record of them ever being made, but they were.[:)] 0 -

I guess the strangest I have, are 16 gauge shells - loaded with black powder.
They give off one heck of a pooff and cloud of smoke.

i have a 30-40 Krag carbine (1899) so i have plenty of 30-40 on hand
have at least one round of about 20 some odd other cartidges, kinda a little collection.

OK I have a 30-06 round. Sounds simple right, but there is a story. My parents moved into my grandparents house. Before that, my grandmother's parents occupied the house. My parents have lived in the house since 1977. My parents are not the neatest people.
About four years ago we cleaned out the kitchen cupboards while my parents were gone. That one in the corner than has a lot of stuff shoved in the back wasn't cleaned out in decades. We found this round in there. Not where you would expect to find such a thing.
It had been fired. I should say it had been miss fired. The primer is indented, but it did not fire. My grandfather never had a 30-06 that I know of. SO it makes me wonder.
Why was this miss fired round saved?
Why was is kept in the kitchen?
Did a woman save it? Grandmother? Great grandmother?
I dunno, but for whatever reason, I chose to keep it.0 -

Is it a "U" shaped enbloc clip or a stripper style?
Are you sure it's 7.92x57R (bullet diameter .323, case 2.245 long), or is it actualy the 8x56R (bullet diameter .329, case 2.206 long)?
