Man vs. Wild -VS- Survivorman
Bear Grylls, or whatever the heck his name is on man vs. wild is a giant douche, what he goes through is nothing compared to survivorman, bear has an entire camera crew with him, he is way to much of an actor and gives people some really bad ideas for survival, i.e. "you want to run down the hill as fast as you can" "you need to use as much cation as possible when wrestling a big griz" Survivor man actually has to survive, not act, hes all by himself as i have much more respect for him than bear, who here agrees with me?? discovery channel needs to show more survivorman and less mvw

survivorman all the way. He is a helluva outdoorsman.

i agree with ya, man vs. wild tries to dramatize things where there is not need, i like Les on survivor-man, he goes through some crap, and i believe he is in real danger when he says he is
i got lost once when i was about 22, we where all drinking about 6 of us late night, we where going to go to a local fishing hole a friend had discovered, our "plan" was to be there when the sun came up, well our guide{i use the term loosely} kept saying, one more hill, by time the sun came up he had no ideal where we where, happened to be the hottest day of the year that day, didn't find civilization until about 7 pm, i drank a 2 liter in one long drink, embarrassing as it is, it was a very eye opening experience, and one heck of an adventure i will never forget {yes i am aware where it all went wrong}0 -
i like Bear better, both are really cool and good though 0 -
I like survivorman. Bear is a psycho. One time he took fresh elephant dung and held it up and squeezed a few drops of water out of it into his mouth. I would take my chances without the elephant dung. 0 -
They are both full of crap. Once on Survivorman, he was going on and on about how the "javalinas will attack you". Please........just shut up if you don't know anything about them!

Survivorman is much more authentic. Man vs Wild is a crock!
What the heck does a brit know about survival anyway? [}:)]
"By golly, we've run out of tea! This is a desperate situation!"[:D][:D]0 -
they are both amusing. i watch them to get a good laugh 0 -
Bear is the new Steve Irwin.....seems likely to meet a similar fate. That being said, I enjoy his show....
I've watched survivorman twice......nothing like listening to a grown man whine about how cold he is for an hour.....0 -
While bear is overthetop and alot of his senarios seem planed by higher level exectives, he keeps me entertained throughout the entire show. 0 -
Oops I hit enter too early. I just think bear shows a lot of useful techniques for situations that simply hit the fan. Sure survivorman is more authentic, but when you have more of a dramatic license, you can go out of your way and show us how to get out of quicksand, swim through frozen water, and all the other crazy stuff he does.
I think its oatmeal to think surviviorman doesn't travel with a crew either. There is no way that is filmed solely by one man. While he does a good job showing how to survive, he normally doesn't go out of his way to demonstrate techniques.0 -
[8D]--Survivor man may be more AUTHENTIC, But that Bear guy has got some gonads, man does he get some uncompfortabe positions and eat some real crap, it's kinda neat--
--He also has some great practical ideas--

WHY are you telling these guys...I get it you just want to beat my post count...NEVER!!!!!!0 -
I like all three. Anything that deals with survival skills - always been a
hobby of mine/my sons and some of the grand kids, as well.
[:D]0 -
I like both, but the nudge goes to Survivorman. He is after all, there by himself. If he got attacked by a bear or something, we'd have a film of his death rather than rescue.
But I sure liked the "Wilderness man" film from like the late 1950's that comes on PBS from time to time. Dude get's dropped off in Alaska by himself and films himself building a cabin and everything he needs. That guy is the handiest SOB I ever saw.0 -

The Bear guy just drank his own urine and ate a spider butt[xx(].......thats entertainment[:0].
Survivor guy is just that a survivor. Bear looks like he just runs throught the woods or wherever and has other people loan him knowledge that he is crazy enough to take... gotta order a pizza and watch both.0
