Should the President of Iran be allowed....

to visit "ground zero" in New York? I don't think it is appropriate for many reasons. Apparently, the NYPD don't feel it appropriate either and have denied the request.

What are your thoughts on this?

    They are responsible for the security of the city, protecting it's citizens and preventing likely protests (or worse). You also have to consider that the terrorists that flew the planes likely had ties (planning or financial) to Iran too. [;)]

    If he attempts to honor the hijackers (and I can guarantee you that is his intent), I hope someone assasinates him. I don't think there is any way in this world that New Yorkers will allow him to set foot on ground zero. Someone will take justice into their own hands and avenge the blood of our fallen soldiers in Iraq...Iran is behind 90% of their deaths.

    I hope they don't even allow him in the city. He's got no rights in this country, even if he is the king frog in his little pond.

    the president of iran is in charge of killing american troops every day in iraq. personally i would kill him if i saw him in america. i would consider it defense of all brave american soldiers. so yes, he should be allowed to visit the site...as long as we have snipers on every building that those muslims terrorists didnt knock down

    Read beyond the headlines.

    He didn't just request to "visit" the site. There's a viewing platform open to the public, but he wanted to actually enter the site and lay a wreath. This special access was denied because, among other reasons, it would interrupt construction work going on down there.

    NYPD is in charge of security within that area and it's their call.

    Note that he hasn't stated a desire to go to the designated viewing area like everyone else. Sounds like a politician who only wanted to go there for a photo op.

    why not? as long as he has a passport, I dont see why he should be disallowed to visit the WTC or any part of the US for that matter.

    He won't be given a security detail by NYPD,.......doesn't mean he won't go there on his own, unless something has changed since I last heard.
    If he does,........wait for the scenes on Arab TV of him "honoring" the brave jihadists, that carried out the attacks, and proclaiming "look what our brethren accomplished against the great Satan".
    I hope someone "caps" his azz![}:)]

    He now says he doesn't understand the furor he caused by asking to go Ground Zero, and has "taken back" his request.

    I don't think there's enough security in the world to save that monkey from being taken out if he went to Ground Zero. There are a lot of people that would love to see him whacked.
