Muslim Holy Sites
Wouldn't it be a shame if someone in the military accidently blew up the Muslim Dome of the Rock after the next American soldier is ambushed? Then, suppose different Muslim sacred site accidently
were blown away every time an American died? Would this bring about peace? After all, when Allah doesn't rain down vengance, perhaps the mullahs will lose their popularity.

I understand why you would think that. I did too until eight years ago. I know the difference now. But back then, I basically felt the same way you do. So that you know, Christians don't worship a book, or the words in it. Rather, we worship the living GOD! I dont have time to address you scripture paraphases point by point, but you did slant it a bit, left out context, as well as proceeding and following passages in order to make your point. But I do respect your opinion. You are speaking from your experiences and I am speaking from mine. So again, I can understand why you feel this way. I assure you that if there ARE god (s) looking down on us they couldn't care one whit about our safety as long as we continue to fulfill whatever wretched purpose we have been put on this earth to do. Destroying the Dome wouldn't quell their urge to fight. It would only intensify it.0 -

The Japanese were probably every bit as devoted to their god-emperor

I understand your point, but I still think it'd be a lesson in futility.
The Japanese were committed to a conventional war, as a nation.
There is now "Muslim Nation" with which we are at war. We still count some of the Muslim countries in the middle east to be (however tenuously) in our corner. We wouldn't want to risk ruining whatever alliances we have with them by attacking their shrines.
It just wouldn't work, and it's all internet chat room talk anyway.
Ain't gonna happen.

It could be done fairly simply with a conventional bomb. No one has to claim credit for the deed. With all the nutcases running around over there with explosives, who's to say the Muslims didn't do it themselves to unite their fellows against the U.S. Even more important, the morale of the Muslims would be shaken when they realize Mecca itself could be next if they don't behave. We have to make the war cost them more than they are willing to pay. 0 -

The sentence in green seems to say the exact opposite of the sentence in red.

The idea is to spread confusion and fear among the enemy. Some would no doubt blame the U.S. but we wouldn't claim credit. When they next attack American troops, another holy site would disappear.
They would have to wonder who is doing the destruction, a rival
religious group, the Americans, etc. This causes fear and confusion to the enemy, a wonderful thing indeed.0
