I Won't Do It Again
All the mowing in one day, that is. I spent about 9 hours on my mower and my backside is sore.

I'm sure there's plenty of felons that would love to massage it for you. [:0]
Sorry, just joking. [:o)]0 -
Dang David, you either have a huge yard, or a small mower. Mine takes two hours at the most. Part of mine is sloped, and I cut it cross-ways, so, my backside, and back, are usually paining after I get through. Have to walk around a little to get everything loosened back up.[:D] 0 -
I used to have to mow a BIG yard when I lived with my parents.....about 5 acres. I liked getting a little sun, listening to the cd player. I got in trouble for mowing big circles all over the place one time!
Now we live in the woods...no grass, just a little patch along our driveway and we usually just spray that with round up.0 -
hired some mexicans to do it for 2$ an hour! 0 -

Size doesn't matter. [:D]
It's also how it's configured. How many cut arounds. How much you can ride and how much you have to push. Just weed-eating around the edges of a acre takes forever and a day???
I almost went off on a rant there. I'll stop now.
I'll just add, tall grass doesn't offend me. I just do it to make her happy and so she'll shut up about it.0 -

James, You are right. I didn't include weed-eating around all the trees and stuff. That adds another hour and a half or so to mine. Don't weed-eat everytime I mow.
I also don't mind tall grass.[;)]0 -
Nunn, I hate to tell ya, but you will have to mow it again in a couple of weeks.
[:D]0 -
Yeah, but not all in one day. 0 -
Get a goat and an electric fence.
Come fall you can eat your gardener. [:D]0 -
Get some sheep.
Then in about a week, you'll never have to worry about mowing again.0 -

Just think if you had to push mow it...
The wife used to push mow our lawn back east and it took her somewhere around 6 hours.0 -

Don't do that! They'll end up taking 3 weeks to get it done!0 -
Do like Hank Hill did and get you a prostetic azz insert 0 -
Fence it in, get some pregnant nannies and voila, you get a mowed lawn and cabrito![:p] 0 -
Our lawn is an acre with lots of slopes. I use my walk behind mower (non self propelled) exclusively until the weather gets hotter, and then I'll start using the lawn tractor for the back half near the woods. Great exercise for a retired guy and it keeps the weight off! 0 -
This year I splurged and hired a a local lawn service. Takes me about 2 hours and then 1 of weed eating. Takes them about 30 minutes - he comes out with 4 guys and they haul!!!! It costs me $45.00 and a sixpack. I just did not have time with doing a the new house and Mrs.Blue was on my case.
Here's a question for ya Nunn - So if I'm on my riding mower, in my yard, and have a beer in the cup holder (self instslled) - Is it considered drinking and driving????[:D][:D] Course your in Texas and I'm in WA state..... And by the way - Me and Mrs.Blue are coming down to Ft.Worth next weekend for my Brothers wedding...0 -
Mine doesn't take 9 hours, but I still have to walk it. 0 -

Whoever called cops "pigs" should be shot....Nanny send Billy and the boys down there to show this clown how it is done!!!
Boss Hog this guy's yard is a freaking jungle and is going to take a couple hrs...should we leave him a few "Smart Pills"0 -
You want sympathy because your BUTT got tired from RIDING the mower?
Some of us have to PUSH that damn thing around. A riding mower? Luxury!
You've seen my house. The lawn is small but the property is on the side of a mountain. It's quite humorous to watch me trying to keep the mower from tipping over sideways and rolling down the lawn to the street (which it has done).
If it takes 9 hours to mow you have a lot of property.
I thought you had goats? Don't they keep the grass short?0 -
I have a little over 4 acres, complicated by irregular treelines, a pond, a small barn, and some brush piles. It was further complicated by 9 straight days of rain which made the grass and weeds really tall and tough. I have very little turf grass, but lots of grassy weeds that are hard to cut, requiring me to make two or more passes in many areas. I also have no tractor, just an aging Huskee 20 hp rider.
One stand of Bermuda is doing well with all the water. It cuts neatly and evenly. If I had all Bermuda and no weeds, this would be a faster job.
I also could use a small tractor and a finish mower, but that will have to wait.0 -

Yeah but all those damn tunnels are hell on the lawn.0 -
I mow 10 acres of hills, and this week it took me six hours with two short breaks to get it done. I use a commercial mower with a 72" deck and it's sweet.
