plummers putty

i got to thinking after reading the thread on jb weld. has anyone used a product i think its called plumbers putty. its two different types of putty when mixed hardens like steel. it can be drilled,taped,sanded. a friend that i lent a gun to used it to build up the receiver on a 1917 that had been milled lower on the rear part. it worked really well he drill and tapped it for a scope mount. just wish he had left it that way instead of trying to jb weld the scope mount on with the screws. this stuff will harden under water and other wet places.

    Plumber putty is more of a clay. It does not harden. It's what keeps you sink trap from leaking around the edges.
    Maybe you thinking of Pig Putty, It's what machinist use.

    Then there's Durhams Rock Hard Water Putty, which I use for making chamber castings, adaptors, plugs, and pool ruiners.

    Plumbers epoxy it comes in a tube normally.

    plumbers putty is used in sink traps for jointing up a sink to a pipe.
