auctions with no pictures
Why in the world would a person list a $1000.00 gun with no pictures??????? Drives me crazy.

I particularly enjoy the ones by an unrated seller, no pictures, high-priced and a "Commemorative" model I've never heard of. This gun has been relisted at least 10 times:

Couple years ago I was directed by some friendly folks here to a listing for a sweet SA 1911A1 for which the seller had no picture. I emailed him requesting a photo which he promptly supplied. He had no rating either. Everyone cautioned me to be wary of a "NR" seller with no photo posted. I ended up buying the gun for $368.00 and got a FINE, LIKE NEW $800 gun with no hassles.

It's the guys who have wives that insist on them to get rid of some guns. This way he can point out that he has it listed on auction, and the market must be soft [:D] 0 -

my first 150 sales on GB were without pics.
you obviously gave away your age.
see....there was a day in real america when your NAME was worth a thousand words.
and they had this thing in the back of newspapers called for sale and want ads and they still have a thing called 'the gun list.' in those days, you WROTE your ad for like 5 cent a word and just put your phone number in the ad. the person called, listened to your description, and decided if you were a jerk just by the sound of your voice and haggling was considered required conversation.
all sellers had to do if a jerk called back was tell em its sold and he left you alone.[:o)]worked real fine. and...
99% of the time, the gun sold and the guy was very happy. those old days were also days when FFL's didnt scalp you either. and, ive sold many a gun via ups, back when ups was a good guy.
so...to answer your question why people do it?
its not needed.
and besides, when you do give pics, the bozos complain that its not bright enough, not close enough, left side right side, under side, wont by it unless a half naked chick is holding it, etc...
all bs in my books.
a mans name is worth all the gold in the world. sell one good gun and the word gets around fast.0
