LOL .... #1 SHOULD BE Costa Rica - they don't even have an army - they
abolished their army back in Dec. of 1948![8D]

Speak softly and carry a big stick still works for me. My dad said, "Never start it, always finish it."

    Exited ?!?

Nah.. it makes no nevermind to me.
I'm happy about where I come from and where I live - that's enough for me.

But I wouldn't think that United States would have been sharing place with Yemen and Iran. [:D]

And no - never heard of "Economist Intelligence Unit" - but then again, most of us have never heard of eachoder before neither - not much we can back up and accredit.

Found it through Ritzau.. and took it as a fun thing - but yes offcourse I'm glad Denmark is in Top-3 [:)]

The EIU is an extension of the magazine "The Economist".

Scandinavia countries might be safe places to live or maybe they're just boring people. Small, cold, northern countries with little economic value and too small to have an army of any substance.

New Zealand is a peaceful nation. New Zealand has a lot of sheep. I wonder if the EIU looked into a correlation.

I would have thought that Switzerland would be at the top of the list?

I don't see how Norway made the top of the list. The whole time I was in the Navy we hauled the U. S. Marines up there for their annual invasion of Norway. As far as I know they still invade Norway once a year, just like clockwork. How can you call a country that's been at annual war since the 1940s peaceful? [:D]

Quite true Nanook. Some countries just sit back and cry for help and
do not fight back or are not worthwhile to take over. Far as Israel
goes they didnt start any wars, just fought the agressors when attacked.
As far as statistics go, "figures dont lie but liars can figure" how to make things look bad or good.

Yeah statistics show, in 89.4% of the times, that when you begin throwing numbers into the equation... some discussions are hard to win.

...Ahhh, all the Euro lib countries are peaceful because they don't have the nads to fight, all whimps. They lack the pride, stregth and courage to fight for their freedoms, no reason for other countries to do it for them when their too whimpy to do it for themselves.

...They get in trouble and and snivel and whine for a manly country to come save their weak azz...just like in WWII when we did. From now own let 'em snivel...[;)]

Nah, I guess some countries just kick back and relax until the US inevitably comes rushing in to prove a point and show "manhood"... saves some effort there... [:0]
