Well folks, this Col. Rossi is stating that 100 rounds was fired, and blew off a question in regards to the FN 5.7.
Apparently it was the pistol the terrorist was using.
Strongly advise laying hands on hicaps while their still cheap. The media was showing extra attention to the capacity and type of rounds for the FN. One ask the question "was he using the armor piercing rounds you can get for the FN".
No matter how this turns out, it's going to go badly for gun owners.

Stopped at the gun store last Friday, he had an FN 5.7 in the display case, no amm, yet. Though about it over night, went back Saturday about noon, was gone. Went back today and I'll have the next one that comes in. Maybe tomorrow, maybe a month.
Wish spring hurries and gets here so I can go out and snipe the groundhogs, stay out of gun stores and temptation.0 -

I posted this over in the reloading forum with no avail. Do you guys know anything?
Anybody reload these? What size bullet could I use. I would like to find one of the more popular sizes to drop in a case ie; 223 etc. Im just not sure about the dimensions but I want to reload FMJ's/not hollow points.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have not shot one, but I have been considering getting one myself. Gun costs around $850, comes with 3 20 round mags, and the ammo is expensive, about $20 for a box of 50. Heard recoil is like a .22 LR handgun. The grips to me were kind of big when I held it, so I am still deciding if it is worth buying, because it is very expensive to shoot. 0 -

Have one and I love it. You wont believe haw far out you can pound those beer cans. I have more hand guns than fingers and toes and this one is my favorite. Only one hitch ammo is a bit pricey at $17-20 a box.... 0 -
I have been thinking of purchasing one too,looked at them on gb several times,can you still get the 192[?] arm. piercing ammo for it,i have seen two or three differnt bullets available,how much does say 500 rds go for,anyone? 0 -
only fired about 400 rounds so far. I was skeptical about how big and goofy the front site looks but this gun is a tack driver. I was taught to aim center mass, but with this gun you can make "Aimed" shots at 200 yards. This is not a Conceal Carry pistol, with large easy to use controls and huge sites, 20 round capacity is nice, you can get extensions to push it to 30 rds. Even if you don't like the gun, there is a future for this cartridge.

I purchased two with concectutive s/n about a year ago. I shoot only one and love it. Recoil is no issue. Quick multiple shots are easy. Some of the less potent ammo isn't too pricy. Of course I'm a guy that just bought a bunch of 25-06 today! 0 -

I'll have to admit that same article turned my head too... But this firearm is Far beyond that BS (Anyone thinking about taking on the police is an idiot. Yea you may get one before they send straight to Hades. That's real smart!!! That being said. This is a great all around firearm. Twenty rds of home defense, recoil that my 8yr old God daughter handles with ease, an excellent long range plinker and those pesky Coyotes will taking the long way round your hen house....To me it seems a little large for CCW But I do know one man that does just that. There are some excellent holster out there know And relosding is now an option as well....0 -

I've read all the Bullpoopy propaganda too and thats one of the reasons I want one along with getting a M4 Tatical Entry. Just to piss of the liberals and to have fun plinking with them. Yeah the other thing that caught my eye in the article was when they were talking about the bullet. It stated "The five-seven is made by FN Herstal, a Belgian company. On its Web site, the company boasts the five-seven's ability to penetrate more than 48 layers of Kevlar -- the material bulletproof vests are made of -- if you use a five-seven, 28-mm armor-piercing bullet."
28mm?[:0] Now I assume this dimension is the length, but the way it is written, it implies the diameter. So you can shoot anti-aircraft shells in this thing too?[:p]0 -

Does anyone know what is the difference between the IOM version and the USG? I have seen them both, and they look the same just about. It seems there are only USG's online now, and last time I checked I could only find IOM. I would like the gun in single/double action, but I read it only comes in double. Any thoughts? 0 -
I respect the Police, and they aren't the only ones who wear Body Armor... Labeling this Gun as a Copkiller is just media propoganda. I like it for it's long range accuracy and Godless Kommie killing potentional.

I've had a FiveSeven for almost a year. Very light, reliable, user-friendly. Fun to shoot! 20-round mag, ambidextrous safety. Ammo's getting cheaper as it becomes more available.
It's silly to restrict the term "cop-killer" to the 5.7x28mm cartridge. There are already many firearms whose round will penetrate body armor that are quite a bit less expensive. You can purchase a Marlin 30-30 for a couple of hundred bucks at many WalMarts. I don't know about kevlar, but I punched several neat little holes through a treated 4x4 at about 50 feet with my FiveSeven.
All that having been said, I have to admit that my primary reason for originally purchasing the gun was the expression on Charlie Schumer's face when he talked about it. Any gun that makes him look so constipated is a must-have in my opinion! [:D]

Five-seveN IOM
The IOM model (for Individual Officer's Model) was the first publicly available variant, debuting commercially in 2004. The IOM is similar in its basic design to the original versions, but differs in that it has a different accessory rail, lined trigger guard outside edge, and adjustable sights. It also incorporates a magazine disconnect-this safety mechanism prevents the weapon from being fired without the magazine inserted.

The most recent version of the Five-seveN, the USG (United States Government) variant debuted in 2005 and replaced the IOM. The USG keeps the differences incorporated in the IOM, such as the magazine disconnect and adjustable sights, but has further modifications, including: conventionally-shaped (square) trigger guard, checkered grip pattern, and a larger, reversible magazine release.0 -
Ive had my IOM for about 2 years now and have not had any problems with it. Fun to shoot with almost no recoil. My understanding from what I have read lately is that the IOM is no longer available to civilians, only govt. and law enforcement agencys. The USG is the only pistol available to civilians. 0 -
i finally got to see and grip one in person today very light weight,unloaded the front site is one huge blade,i found the grips to be a little slippery,i wonder if houge makes a slip on grip for them, gun shop in ashland ky wanted 929.00 retail i saw them on here less ship and transfer for 850ish, 0 -

Does anyone know how much the IOM models are going for? I am thinkng of selling one, but can not find any for sale, and did not find them
in the bluebook of gun values. Found some USG's for sale, but nothing on the IOM. Would appreciate any help, thanks.
