Goodbye Comcast--going back to DSL
I let my temper get the best of me about a year ago and switched from DSL to RoadRunner (now Comcast). Was always told that cable was as fast or faster that DSL
ain't no way. Cable, at least in my area, is sometimes just about as slow as dialup. Sometimes, I have to unplug the modem to reset 4-5 times a day. Today has been horrible. I guess all the kids in the area (out of school) have been on the net all day and this sucker is just crawling. I've had to give up several times today trying to access certain websites, including GB. Never had that problem with DSL. The more traffic on cable----the slower it gets. Comcast denies it; but, it's true.
Well, I'm through ranting (for now).

I've been using DSL for about six years now. It is fast enough for me, I don't see the need to go to cable and pay more. 0 -
I switched when Adelphia sold out. Comcast customer service is the worst!! We went on vacation and tried to get a 1 month disconnect while we were gone-NO WAY. They'll only disconnect for 3 months or longer. Don't even try calling them as they usually have a "higher than anticipated" call volume and your wait time can be 20 minutes or longer. Even the service personel will tell you horror stories they've heard from customers regarding the customer service. Bigger is NOT always better!! 0 -

I just did a test with cable and it came up as 2.6 megabits per second. I guess that is good. 0 -
and...may i add, the less people use dial up....the faster IT BECOMES. IM STILL ON DIALUP AND LOVE IT. 0
