My first week living in Texas
I am now living in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, I haven't ventured out to anywhere other than downtown Ft. Worth a few times, but I have had several unique expierences. I have lived in the Northwest, California, and Florida, and I have spent a good deal of time on the east coast as well. But Texas is truely something special.
It has snowed here (only lightly but it did snow)
It broke into the low 80's a few days later.
Then we had a tornado that narrowly missed where I am staying and rained down hail that I have never expierenced before.
So to sum this up in one week, snow, 80's, tornado and hail storm.
I think I'm going to enjoy it. Now anyone know a good bodyshop in the area for my car?

Only fools and strangers predict the weather in Texas. 0 -
actually, yeah. I went to this place to get my frame straightened, and I really was impressed with these guys. clean place, good workers, and I could tell they weren't ripoff artists. I think the owner was a christian, with one of those fish symbols by the name of the shop. but for the life of me I can't remember who it was. somewhere around here, west of 35 and south of 635, not too far from the interchange, probably off of royal ln and then go north a block or 3.
there's another guy I think does body work, the owner wasn't too bad but the guy working for him that worked on my transmission and rear end didn't put the fluid back in either, so the tranny went kachooey!! [:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!][:(!] but that' guy's probably gone. go to that Taco Cabana on forest & plano rd., go out the parking lot going east across plano rd on presidential dr., and wander about a bit. it's a hole in the wall but like I said I think the guy does good work, if he does body work.
don't go to eagle transmission across the street (if you get tranny problems) I got my car back, the hood wouldn't shut and a shock absorber was broke. I don't know what the hell they did to it and they denied everything.0 -
Get your A/C in your car and residence in fit shape before July-August cause its gonna get hotter than you would expect, I mean Farking HOT. 0 -

Welcome to the middle of Flyover Country! Tejas is one of the only places on Earth where it's still considered good manners to wear a cowboy hat to church.
If you don't like the weather; wait 20 minutes.
Maybe if you start cruising telecom offices, you'll run into my sis!
Then again, if you start cruising body shops; you may run into my ex!
She'll be the one with the air chisel.0 -
I'd get the A/C's in gear BEFORE July if I were you.
It's been unseasonaly cool lately,BUT,it can(and will) turn around literally overnight.[;)]
Ask me how I know.

...[:D][:D]...you will have to make a trip out to the High Desert country...deep West/South West Texas...and the Big Bend area is out here; fanastic! You can go places, walk where no one has ever set foot, unless it was Commanches... that is some beautiful country out there it is...[;)]
