Ethics question.. No gun related..
I know where a 1972 or 73 Toyota Land Cruiser long wheel base with a six-cylinder H engine. All original, Some body rust and a little damage. All glass except for the rear hatch is intact.
In 1991 the family that owned it moved to somewhere in Northern, Ohio. It had not been touched since. So it has sat for the past 17 years. I have so far contacted the DMV and the WV State Police and neither can get contact information on the owner whom had it registered in WV. All I can get is, it is titled to and last registered to such and such at the address where it now sits. Contacted the Ohio DMV and they were unable to get any contact information on the owner whom it is titled to either.
Now the ethics question kicks in. Not being the type that would steal anything, from anyone, for any reason.
Could or would it be considered abandoned property.
If someone were go load it up and haul it home would that be considered stealing.
I would love to have it to restore and get it running again. And have thought about it many of times. But something in the back of my mind tells me to leave it where it is and let it rust in peace.
I will be passing by the place tomorrow and will get some photos of it.
