I just like stuff! Sadly, sometimes I have to sell some of my stuff to buy other more desirable stuff!

I keep stuff because I have the room, when I run out of room I'll build more.

Since it's obvious that I was/am one of the OVER-stuffed, I'll take a shot at this. Like you, some of the stuff was for resale, some of it was for the day when I would get a "round-tuit" some was for collections, some was for fixin other stuff, and some was just to have.

Keep in mind, that I have had my handle (screen name) LONG before the internet came about. It was well known, by almost everyone that knew me, that I was always out "pickenup" one thing or another.

Friends would come over and ask, hey, do you have........
Almost always, the answer was.....sure do, now let me FIND it. [B)]

Well, the days of getting a "round-tuit" are gone, for the most part. I lost my "round-tuit" and I ain't looking to find it. With the throw away society we have now days, MANY items can not be "fixed" being made out of plastic, etc. You just go buy a new one. [:(]

We are looking forward to the day, when we can consider ourselves UNDER-stuffed.

Everytime I throw something away, I need it the next week. Never fails.

Because when I was a kid I had nothing and when I was raising a family I had very little. Now I'm over flowing and trying to make myself get rid of it. I am selling and trading a lot of tools, most of them unused.

I'm not too terribly "over stuffed". I almost was at one time, but two divorces took care of most of that.[;)] Plus, when my health failed I had to simplify, considerably. Sold the boat, the bike, and many of my shop tools. Had entirely to much to maintain properly.

I don't keep stuff and I hate clutter. If I have not used something in two years it gets tossed. I am like that because my parents were/are major pack rats. They have unopened boxes from when they moved into their house in 1978.....

While we're talking about stuff, does anyone need a used water pump for an '89 Jeep Cherokee? I'm pretty sure I've got one, if I could just find it.[:D]

(It's supposed to be a joke, Moderators. I'm not really trying to sell stuff on the forum.)

This is a question that I wish I had answers to.
I too still have brand new car parts for cars I have not owned for 15 years. WHY DO I KEEP IT???

I just went through some paint that I have been shuffling around for over ten years and have packed it with me in my last move.
When I opened up the gallon cans, half of them had nothing but dry paint in them. I have NO IDEA why i keep this stuff.

I have not tied any flies for my fly fishing in years but I have boxes of fly tying stuff.

I know what I am going to be doing all Christmas Break.[:(!][}:)]

I am not too bad. I keep lots of things that are related to things I do. Some people just collect everything.

Like others have said it seems like every time I get rid of something that I have been hanging on to I need it very shortly there after. If I need it bad enough I will have to buy it again and will end up costing at least 2x as much.

At the max two days after I throw something out I desperatly need it for a new project I'm doing. Even if its laid there 30 years without seeing the light of day. [:p] [}:)]

I keep stuff, too much stuff, because I'm certain that someday I'll need it. Problem is that sometimes I forget what even I have.

Lemme 'splain.... it's my copyrighted 'chit fairy' theory:

You have these Items...and you look at them and say... ' wow...I'll save that...it's good stuff! I may need this later!" so you squirrel it away and one day, you look for something amoung all the 'chit', and think 'what the hell is all this chit doin here?' Read on, you've been violated......

What happens is, the Chit Fairy comes and steals your 'good' stuff, and then leaves you this chit.......

I plan on shooting this loafer light preck when i catch him...uh her, uh it!

I think it's because it's hard to throw out things of value.
A real collector overvalues his stuff.

Same for me, because I always end up needing it after I get rid of it.

You never know when you will need that thermostat for the old jeep that you sold 3 years ago. And I don't know what I would do without the box for a scope that I no longer own.

I dont see it costing me a dime just setting there, it cost me after I sell it,loose it or toss it and then I need it,
I look for it for hours knowing it is there and then buying a replacement.
What sux is after you buy the replacement you find the one you were looking for just setting there in plan site.

(i think the wife hides my crap just to keep me looking then puts it back)[;)]

or it could just be BRAIN FADE

I was cleaning out the garage the other day and found a box of Harley parts. FUnny thing is, even though I sold my last Harley two years ago I put it back on the shelf. Never know when you need a set of mirrors that say...

""cagers" in mirror are closer than they appear"

Maybe I should use these for my 500 post giveaway.
