Thinking I'll grab a tarp and make a rain fly over the picknick table.

The highlite of any camping trip to me are the evening campfires. So firewood/firwood gathering tools, and fire maintence tools are a MUST.
I usually cut wood locally and take it with me (we live near where we usually camp). But I also keep an Axe and a Bow Saw on the camper. Along with a pair fireplace log tongs. OH, and don't forget the ATF! (Automatic Transmission Fluid). BEST stuff there is to get a fire ROARING in a short time.
Get a fire started, then pour on the ATF. That stuff burns HOT. But it doesn't burn fast. It'll start even wet/green wood on fire.0 -
2 pairs of dry socks and a few pairs (why pairs, you only wear one at a time) of boxers in a ziplock bag....
Add a small bottle of good whiskey/scotch as well...0 -

Flash lights: the moon and stars are bright enough
