I do not condone this man's actions at all, however, if I was on his jury, I would vote to aquit.

ORLAND, Ind. -- An Orland man who was angry that his pit bull had killed his Chihuahua dragged the pit bull to death behind an SUV, police said.

Kevin Collins, 20, was arrested and charged with felony animal cruelty. He remained incarcerated at the Steuben County Jail on $10,000 bail Saturday night.

A woman driving along a county route on Thursday saw the animal being dragged along the dirt road, noted the SUV's plate number and called 911, police said.

Police said they found Collins at his parents' house. Collins told police he dragged his pit bull because it killed his other dog.

Afterward, Collins dumped the dead dog along the road and left it, police said.

If convicted, Collins could be sentenced to six months to three years in jail.

    Our city just passed a pit bull law. They have to be registered with a $300 license fee and contained in a secured area. I personally do not like the breed and dare one to step in my yard. [:D]

    too bad for both dogs the owner had no I.Q.leaving the dogs together.one of those chopper motorcycle builders who had a t.v. show on the discovery channel did the same thing (left his pitdogs together to find one dead). scary how dumb these idiots are

    Ok, so this guy left a DOG alone with a RAT, then he gets mad when the RAT gets killed? The DOG should have been rewarded for extermanating the little RAT and stopping a outbreak of vermin.

    I wonder if the irresponsible pit bull owner (and there seems to be a plethora of them, it's the ghetto thang, you know) would've been charged with anything for the death of the man's rat dog, had the dog been in it's yard, minding his own business. As most Pit attacks happen.

    Probably not. The sad fact is that one of these ghetto trash dogs has to seriously injure someone before anyone pays attention. Until then it's cursory fines and warnings. What the authorities do not understand is that ghetto trash people make these ghetto trash dogs and actually keeping them in a yard is somehow "not cool" or is "allowing 'the man' to tell me what to do".

    There are some sweet, lovey pits out there, sadly, the image of the entire breed has been co-opted and corrupted by gangster scumbags like DMX and Michael Vick.

    It's not the first breed either. In the 70s and 80s it was Doberman Pinchers, In the 80s and 90s it was Rottweilers. It's whatever some rap doofus says will make you "de baddes homey in da 'hood", then morons just gotta go get one.
