Folks, Walter Reed can not accept anything addressed to a non-specific recipient. Due to fears of tainted packaging in this day and age no mail for "any soldier" or "recovering soldier" or any of of its variations are deliverable. There are numerous organizations that you can contact who will be more than happy to take care of our returning soldiers and those still stationed in harm's way. The USO, American Red Cross, your local VFW's and their Auxilliaries, the American Legion, and Cooties, to name a few. While we loved in Atlanta, we visited the local VA hospital every month bearing goodies and bingo games with prizes for the residents.
We took our kids which made the day for those who were there. They enjoyed the young smiling faces and visits with them. I am sure you would be able to google these organizations for a chapter near Walter Reed and ask them how best to pass on your well wishes for the holidays.0
