you know, when i look at the 45acp, or 40s&w in my dream, it just looks like this midget littel round..... but the 357 or 44 looks like a high powered rife round!

i guess its time to take the Glock out and humt some rabbits to remind me how powerfull the round really is!
im not a guy who is easily disturbed, im an EMT, and on the rescue team at my coal mine.......
but this is getting to me!

    I have a similar dream.

In mine, I come under attack and I don't have my weapon on me or near me. I always reach for it... and it's never there.

I hate this dream as I ALWAYS have my weapon on me at ALL times.

sometimes the dream is like that, but its more disturbing to try and engage a threat, and have trust in your weapon, and it just doesnt do what you want it ot....

That explains it; you're just going through a short term protection anxiety brought on my recent tragic events. I also had dreams such as those before the birth of my kids.

I had nearly the same dream a few times in the past, my sister-in-law is a psychologist and she says it's a result of fear or doubt about something happening in your life.
I think Mk19 nailed it, your probably stressing about the new baby.

Instead of shooting back in the next dream, try changing the perps diaper.[:D]

Its a subconscious fear of being inadequate, manifesting itself through dream.

You are obsessing on your abilities to use your firearms to protect yourself, and family.
It is coming out at night, in the form of dreams via the subconcious mind.
Verify your skills, by practicing, on a regular basis, and quit worrying about every "crime" that takes place, that you see on TV, and putting yourself into the position of the one that "saves" everyone.

I never worry about my arms being powerful enough.

    I worry about my skill.

Wahts funny is in most of the dreams, i dont even pull my weapon untill the threat is coming to me. When the guy is shooting up other parts of the place, i just stay cool, and be ready to protect myself and my family. no hero action, just family protection.
im understading it more now.. thanks guys!

This type of dream is common in the police field. I used to have similar ones and the guys I worked with had them as well. It's not something most of us talk about. It has to do with stress and your subconscious. I wouldn't be to concerned.

I wouldn't worry about having a firearm as much as I would about having a 2 year old and a newborn in the house.
    Yikes!
    Now that's scary....

Can't you see? This dream is about the black man's struggle against a white, anglo-saxon run society.

Your first mistake is ascribing meaning to dreams. Why is having a dream any more meaningful than taking a piss? Because dreams have mental content and piss doesn't? How is that an argument?

Your second mistake is mislabeling this dream as a recurring one. It ain't; you have articulated as much.

There has never been a single iota of science proving dreams have any meaning whatsoever. Freud was a joke; get over it.

Contact the VA. They'll set you up with an appointment to see a shrink. Might be just the ticket. Joe
