A 240gr Hornady XTP in front of 100gr Pyrodex RS Powder lit by a Remington Cleenbore 209 out a 26" tube.?

  From the looks of it, should hammer em just like a 44mag rifle. They both run about the same velocities with the same bullets.

  Hey cubslover, pretty good answer I gave on the other thread, off the top of my head, 1,700 fps. I was 18 fps off.
  Yes that slug will knock them dead at that velocity.
  I know because guys are shooting them with the Savage with the 250 XTP at long ranges, I mean 150 to 200 yards. The longest shot I know of with this hollow point is 207 yards. Virtually the same bullet as yours. The bullet leaves the Savage at 2,200 to 2,300 fps and out at those long ranges is doing about 1,500 fps or so. It really slays 'em.
