I have heard of another store in my area having that happen.....actually a customer was in and asked what they should do if a gun was sent to THEM instead of the FFL they had sent for the transfer. We asked and shure enough....he had bought a gun and instead of sending it to the FFL he had provided it came to him.

We told him that the store he got it from will MOST LIKELY be the ones to be in trouble if anyone dug into it.....but the recieving dealer will have to prove he had never gotten it which is a pain. So we told him he really needed to go take the gun to the local dealer to get things done the right way. We all talked about how stupid some people can be....and he was smiling when he left....but who knows if he actually did the right thing.

Yes, it's happened. The sending FFL had sent it to the buyer instead of me. I seldom make a federal case out of a brain fart and just entered the weapon and transferred it.

LF, the easy way to handle your case would have been to do the paperwork, notify the sending FFL to admend his records to show you as the receiver, and make your fee. I'm positive the sender would have concurred.[;)]
