Need source for 8-32 thread ramrod accessories
I can find all kinds of 10-32 stuff, but no 8-32 thread.
My son's ramrod is 8-32 and the cleaning/starter jag with it doesn't work well pulling patches unless they are really wet. Good luck with a dry patch. You lose it in the barrel more often than not.
I suppose I could buy a 8-32 to 10-32 adapter but really want a .50 cal jag, 8-32 thread that works and he can keep on the rod and store it that way with the rifle like it is supposed to be.
Any suggestions?
thanks.

Aha. Kept searching just a few minutes more and finally found what I wanted at http://www.rockymountainmuzzleloading.com/.
Thanks anyway.0 -
Just in the interest of being able to shop around:
trackofthewolf.com
dixiegunworks.com
None of the accessories for ramrods are all that pricey, but sometimes the shipping is outrageous. No harm in saving a buck or two, and both Track and Dixie are set up for on-line ordering.0 -
It is a simple thing to go into the 8-32 thread with a 10-32 tap drill then retap to 10-32.
You will have a stronger thread and easy to find accessories.
Someone with a lathe will be able to do a neat job of it.0
