Nice channel kittyfish! That's just about the size we target when we go. Our largest went 22 1/2 lbs., and my brother's stepson gave away one that would have set a new state record 5 years ago! IDJIT! He coulda gotten a NEW BOAT! Most of ours here go about 8-15 lbs. We go especially for them right after they spawn and are really hungry.

I need to take some more pics this spring. I keep posting the same ones from November.

that is a nice catfish you are holding on the boat. What river is that? Do you have trouble with gars there? Are you useing set lines or rod and reel? What is the best flat head bait there? Later holden_cars[:D]

That's on the Ohio River between Indiana and Kentucky. We were fishing for stripers and caught that cat on an ACME Castmaster spoon. I haven't done much catfishing in the past but I think I'm going to start. I haven't seen to many gars where that pic was taken but I have seen lot's of them up closer to home. Here's some I caught about two miles from my house.

Funny you should mention that Kastmaster spoon; I've caught a few on one myself. Best tactic is to drift with the current and just barely keep the spoon off the bottom. Something about just having to have chrome(BLING).
