I miss my old man
First off I want to THANK anybody that has served in the arm forces or has had family serve. In 1994 my father died of cancer at the age of 49, I was only 12. he never talked to me about viet nam all I knew was that he was in the army and he said he was a "machine gunner" I always assumed that he ment he carried a M-60. I know he was in the 173rd airborne and he was decorated with 2 BRONZE STARS WITH OAK LEAF CLUSTER AND THE "V" DEVICE FOR VALOR. is there anywhere where I can find any information about his service like the dates he served, what part of the 173rd he was in, etc.
THANK YOU AGAIN

You should be able to get a copy of his DD 214 from military records. Contact your local Veterans Administration office and they will help you do it. That's what they do, help veterans, and they're good at it.
Good luck.0
