Know what a Cisco is ?

    Nope. Don't go there. But, they are sure good eating.
    Haven't had any since leaving the Great Lakes area.

    The Cisco is a fresh water shad or chub. thay are found in the cold water streams like you will find trout and spring feed lakes . They can grow to 14 inch and are good fighters, and are good to eat. "I like smoked"

    really never heard of them anywhere but in a lake and the only one in Idaho that has them is Bear Lake that I'm aware of. Those here have no resembelance to any chubs the we have.
    Are they considered game fish where you guys ate/caught them ? Could you use them for bait there?

    ive never seen a real cisco before. but my lure of choice for BIG northerns and muskies is a lure called the "cisco kid"....about $10

    A cisco is a type of whitefish. muskies love 'em and so do lake trout. they're a little greasier than some other white fish but they're really good smoked.[:)]

    I have fished Bear Lake a number of times but never caught a Cisco

    800 you won't catch them unless you are there to dipnet them in late january to early february while they run to spawn, after that who knows where they go, but the Macks love them
