Fish in Great Lakes Suggests Human Health is Threa
TORONTO (AP) -- A report from Canada on contaminated fish suggests people are at risk from toxic chemicals in the Great Lakes.
The report by Environmental Defence found consumption advisories are generally getting worse.
The organization tracked advisories for four species of fish in 13 locations across the Great Lakes. Those advisories affected various sizes of carp, rainbow trout, northern pike, chinook salmon and whitefish.
Lake Ontario fared the worst over time, with eight categories of fish that became more contaminated between 2005 and 2007.
