Speaking of do you know what ... do you know of the Paul Bunyan 66?
it was a really cool spinning lure. They claimed it was illegal since it caught so many fish. And they highly recommeded putting it on your fishing line behind a tree ... so a fish would not leap out of the water and grab it before you had it attached!
Mine had a fairly light gray lead head a spinner and a gray/brown/black hackle fly with single hook in the back. I did catch lots of fish with it!

...tie it on behind a tree?
...Hell, I have a topwater I made I have to tie on at the HOUSE, and keep a sock over it until the last minute right before I cast.
Failed to do that once...and I had my boat swamped with hundreds of bass that jumped in the boat after it...[:D]
