Cabellas Gur Room Prices
Looking at Cabellas gun listings it appears to me their prices are very high .

Yep there prices are right up there, Bass Pro same thing. If I was to sell my stuff I'd be really happy to get their prices. 0 -

Yes, as a general rule prices in the Gun Library are high, but not everything. Their prices are negotiable and I've never paid their list prices on collectible guns. Always try to negotiate and I've gotten some pretty good deals! 0 -
The normal gun prices are the same as everybody else, but in a fine gun room your going to see fine gun prices. You can still find some great deals in a fine gun room, like getting a NIC Perazzi MX-5 for only $6000, or a matched set of Franchi Imperial 20ga's for only $145,000. 0 -
Yap I checked on a Remington 700 BDL yesterday at Wally World, they didnt have one in stock but was willing to order me one for $798.00. I like the cartridge I have a Ruger Hawkeye in .308 but was just looking for another Remington 700 BDL I said forget that my Dealer is $200.00 cheaper. I dont know if there wanting to get out of gun sales or what, but neither company is not going to sale many like that. 0 -

I was amazed by what smith and wesson revolvers were going for in the gun room in our Hoffman Estates Cabellas. Wonder if I can consign some of mine for $900. 0 -

That is the problem with many of these stores, the people that are setting up the prices and making the labels know little to nothing about guns. We had just recieved a wonderful shotgun one day that had the wrong SKU number, the girl making the sign wouldn't know the differance as the SKU came back at $9,999.99. That is a common price in the Fine Gun Room. I noticed what was happening and pulled the gun and sign till it could be fixed. This gun was one of a kind Bertuzzi Gull Wing that is worth 30 times that amount. I should have kept my mouth shut and did everything I could have to buy that gun, then I would have taken the first bid over $200,000. But I'm too honest for that.

per a local pawn broker, not hearsay, the man told me this to my face. the new cabela's in gonzales, la. is buying every gun he has that comes out of pawn, in good condition, at a very inflated price. cabela's then kicks that price for an extra $200.
people seem are very happy to say they purchased their firearm from a cabela's and not a pawn shop. note, pawn shop prices are not the best in the world!
the prices of used frirearms at that cabela's, well you could buy it new, plus taxes, and still save money.

I was in the Cabela's in Gonzales just after it opened and I would say the prices for collector guns in their Gun Library were a little higher than I expected, certainly higher than knowledgeable collectors would pay. I not sure how much negation room they had in them, so who knows how much you would actually have to pay. They must have received their Gun Library startup inventory from other Cabela's stores around the nation. 0 -
The Cabelas in East Grand Forks will pay 50% of the value of your firearm, if it is used. If it is brand new, in the box, they will pay 20.00 to 50.00 less than their wholesale cost. Scheels is a much better store here. They will pay 70% of what they can resell it for.
Cabelas customer service has diminished, to many of their employees have no idea of the products they are selling and they do not desire to learn.
In the Gun Library I have discovered what Cabelas has is always rare, always in excellent condition, and always should be priced higher. According to the managers I have tried to deal with. If you bring something in to trade, your item is always one of a million or so, always in poor condition, undesireable, and if you pay them to take it they might be able to recoup their investment.
As you might have guessed, I am not very fond of Cabelas.0 -

I ask about Cabellas consignment policy in the new Lacy Washington store and was told they don't do consignments, but would buy outright at 70% of what they thought the item could be sold for. If they want the iten at all.

was thinking of looking there but got it elsewhere for much cheaper than I ever thought... the
gonzales and denim springs cabelas and bass pro I do not expect great prices having to support a store front, etc. and start up costs... there is a lot of competition in Baton Rouge area. I am in lafayette there is not one single six for sale in this town, new or used.. my local guy found one at accusport only and it would go out the door for 465 american dollars... my gun cost 360 total .. much better.. they lost my biz before I darkened the door.. sorry cabelas and bass pro .. not today for this "cooney". I see I am not alone here either... lol

The Cabela`s store in Sidney Ne has a batch of theives there. They will allow maybe, 50% of the value in trade and then price the gun approx 200% over what a person can buy it for in a retail gun shop or gun show. They are looking for "guppies" off the interstate. The knowledgeable gun people avoid Cabela`s like the plague. Another thing people have to watch real close is their overpriced clothes. The buy from China or India and sew their own brand name tags in the item. In the "bargain cave" they sell items that are the same price as what is on the main floor and believe me, that is no bargain. The same brand and style can be purchased in other retail store for way less money. 0 -

Recently looked at a gun in the "library" used. After researching I contacted a salesman the next day and told him I thought the gun was about 35% high and the reasons why. He inspected the gun and came down about 7%. He told me if they could buy used guns at blue book estimates they'd buy every gun so priced. I passed. My one experience with Cabelas. 0 -

Just saw a new gun in their inventory described with nicks, scratches, and decent bluing listed for $1,300.00 when the base Blue Book value at "excellent" might get you $875.00. Life is good for Cabellas. 0 -
