Sea Foam

Ok I'm not a very good mechanic but my grandson nearly run his truck out of oil and a lifter started to try to stick but a can of sea foam fixed this but my question is how long are you supposed to ru it in your before you change your oil
.?

    Just ran a can through my Taurus' engine, you should've seen the noxious white cloud that came out of the exaust. I took it for a drive aferwards and there was a difference in pick-up. I thinking if it helped a car with 38000 miles, it should really make a difference in my '93 F-150 with 150,000 miles.

    Nice!! Have never tried it in my vehicle before. I always throw some in the atv if I am not going to be using it for an extended period of time(the winter).

    I did the 1/3 "suck it through a vacume line," 1/3 in the gas tank, and 1/3 in the oil method.

    Sea Foam. It comes in a white metel bottle and most auto parts stores should carry it. It's by the injector cleaners and oil treatments usually.

    I've used Seafoam in all my fuel injected vehicles gas tanks with exceptional results, but I would not recommend putting it in your crankcase if you have roller bearings in your lifters, they will fail. I've learned it the hard way on a 1990 GT Mustang.

    I run it through the gas tank every spring. My fuel system has never given any problem and my plugs are always clean. It's about the best or at least on par with Techron.

    I thought you were talking about fudge...and yes there is a fudge called Sea Foam...Was a bit surprised to learn its a cleaner of sorts for a cars engine....

    I've been introduced to Sea Foam this past spring, and seeing is beliveing. A friend of mine and i took out his boat out on the river early spring, and after about 20 minutes it started running like crap. I though for sure it was an electrical problem, and when things heated up, it would miss fire! We changed the coil, and took it out the next day, and again after about 20 minutes, same thing. I didn't think we would make it back to his house it was running so bad. Someone had given him a can of Sea Foam, and that second night he put a can in the gas tank right before we parked it. The 3rd. day we took it out again, and it ran like a new engine, we were out in the boat for 2 hours and not a glitch! And it's been running perfect ever since! I've been working on engines for years, and i can't explain it.

    Another friend of mine owns a auto repair shop, and he has one of those fuel injector cleaning machines, and that's the cleaner that he puts into his machine.

    If you ask me, its a Miracle product! I put it in all my cars, truck, chainsaw, trimmers, etc. It's also a gas stabilizer, so you don't need Sta-Bil additive.

    I buy it at my local Menard's, they have the best price, and when they have the 20% off shopping bags, it's even cheaper yet. I keep 5 or 6 cans on hand all the time.

    Sea Foam is one of the very few additives I will use. The automatic transmission Sea Foam will do wonders for the valve body.

    Black Roses: do NOT put fudge in your fuel system!

    Catpealer: thanks for the tip. This ought to help my Chevy truck and Suburban. Both are over 160K.

    Sea Foam is great, especially on small engines. I had a '92 waverunner given to me, and was told it wouldn't run. I put in a new battery, plug, ether in the plug hole, 1 gal gas, and 1 can sea foam. Let it fun the gal dry, and BINGO, she runs like new.

    Sea foam says it can be used in diesels, but I'd highly recommend not! It kills all the lubricity in diesel fuel, and with the ULSD trash we have now it needs all the lube it can get.

    I seen a guy put Sea Foam in at a gas station- poured the whole danged thing in.... Big ol brand new dodge dually diesel.


    Needless to say, it was sitting there for a week to follow... HUGE smoke cloud
