ATI pistol grip forend on Mossberg...

Has anyone ever installed one? I had to take the entire gun apart to get it on lastnight...I'm just glad I got it back together!!! The d@mn thing is as tight as it can get too! Can barely rack the slide. I need to take it back apart and shave some of the plastic off of the rear plastic piece on the grip. I read a review about this happening but figured I'd try it anyway. It is a nice grip and will really add to the controlability of the gun (it's got the pistol grip rear stock too).

    Don't exactly know why you took the whole gun apart. You take off the barrel, the fore end ring and slide off the fore end. Reverse to assemble. If your pump is too hard to slide you might have the screwed the barrel screw on too tight.

    it's not that easy, cannot replace it just by doing that.

    From ATI's website, these are the instructions I followed for my Mossberg 500:

    Step 1 Cycle action once to make sure hammer is
    cocked and engage safety.
    Step 2 Depress slide release and pull forend
    approximately halfway back, loosen
    magazine cap and remove barrel.
    Step 3 (Mossberg) Remove trigger group retaining
    pin by tapping it out with a blunt pin no
    greater than 3/16" in diameter.
    Step 4 (Mossberg) Place shotgun upside down
    and pull out trigger group by lifting up at
    the rear. (see figure #5)
    Step 5 (Mossberg) Remove shell stop and shell
    interrupter from receiver.
    Step 6 (Mossberg) Align bolt slide with cut out
    in receiver by moving forend and action
    bars back and forth. Remove bolt slide
    upward (figure #7). Pull forend and action
    bars forward & remove from magazine
    tube.
    Step 7 (All Models) Assemble forend as shown in
    figure #1.
    Step 8 (Mossberg) To reassemble, slide forend back on magazine tube and
    align action bars with the openings in the receiver.
    Step 9 (Mossberg) Align the slots on the action bars with the slots on the bolt
    slide and replace bolt slide (figure #7).
    Step 10 (Mossberg) Replace both the shell interrupter and shell stop
    (figure #6).

    I went to the ATI website and looked at the pics. I never had to do more than figure #1. Take off the barrel, remove the locking ring. Slide off old fore end. Slide on new fore end. reinstall locking ring. Reinstall barrel. Done. Looks like they had you install if from the back end.

    I have installed Choate and Tacstar pistol grip fore ends. I never installed an ATI. Unless one of those adapters has to go on from the back I cannot see any reason you need to take the whole darn shottie apart

    This may get poofed, but I do not care for ATI products at all.
