Jack Daniels recipes (update)
Here's one that I want to try sometime soon:
Skillet Steaks with Lynchburg Pan Sauce
2 Porterhouse or T-bone steaks, about 1 ? to 2 inches thick
Vegetable oil
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
? cup Jack Daniel'sr Tennessee Whiskey
Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat until very hot, about 10 minutes. Generously rub steaks with oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook steaks one at a time. Sear steak on one side, about 5 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 5 minutes for medium-rare; 6 minutes for medium. Remove the steak from the skillet and keep warm.
Repeat with the second steak and keep warm. Melt the butter in the skillet; stir in the Worcestershire sauce and Jack Daniel'sr. Bring to a boil and cook about 2 minutes. Slice steaks, if desired. Pour sauce over steaks and serve immediately. Makes 4 servings.
If anyone wants to try it out and let me know how it was, I won't be offended.
Edit: Tried it tonight. Awesome recipe. I highly recommend it.

What the heck kind of fair weather griller are you???? [:D][:p]
My grill never gets put 'up for winter'!!! Shoot, I'll shovel through four feet of snow to light that puppy up!
I'm a wimp[:D] I put it away because of Tornado's and 60mph winds last week. Now we've got snow and ice and I just don't feel like getting it back out. Gonna try cooking it indoors.[:(]0 -
Looks like a good recipe! I bought some of these Marlboro cookbooks in the 90's and they have some good recipes in them. Here's a few I found on Ebay. Anyone in here have them?

I use about 2 shots of jack with about 1/4 cup bbq sauce, marinate a couple steaks for about 2 hours in it. When the steaks are cooking put some shrimp in the left over sauce for about 10 minutes then grill them.
or: 1-2 shots jd
1 stick of butter melted
1 1/2 tablespoons each of black pepper, onion, garlic, chili
powders
use as a mop sauce or baste turkey and seafood with it on the grill0 -

kinda wonder about the directions. Heat pan on high for 10 minutes. I would be afraid to leave a skillet on high heat for 10 minutes without cooking anything. Also adding steaks to a skillet thats been on high heat for 10 minutes, at 5 minutes a side????? Looks to me like it would be pretty crispy.... 0 -

Hot pans with nothing in them dont start on fire....when the meat goes in as described it is a serious sear....good stuff...[:)]0
