UPDATE! PRAYER REQUEST FOR MY SISTER ...
... in Anchorage, AK. I normally find myself praying for others but I am asking to please keep her in your prayers. She's been diagnosed with cancer and just started chemotherapy yesterday. I am leaving Thursday AM to go see her.

Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.
My sister was surprised when I showed up Thursday. Her smile drowned the pains and sorrows that she was going through . at least temporarily. I too was very eager to see her - we have not seen each other since our Dad's passing in 2005.
She is quite a mess. On top of the cancer, she is also diabetic (using insulin), anemic, gout/arthritis, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. She has trouble eating so they have been nourishing her via IV and have oxygen tube to assist on her breathing.
The first evening I was there she gave us quite the scare. She was gasping for air and was struggling in spite of nebulizer treatment to augment the airways. Later, they found ~ 2 liters of fluid in her lungs. I was told because of all the fluids to cleanse her kidney (so she can do the chemotherapy) and the liquid nourishment, it somehow made it to her lungs. As soon as they pump it all out, she was doing OK. As of Saturday evening, she is breathing on her own - no oxygen tube.
The cancer cells found in her lungs are not the same as the cancer cells normally found in lung cancer; however, they are treating it as such. She been getting 2 kinds of IV chemotherapy and concentrated doses of radiation chemotherapy. Some of the cancer cells have also migrated on other parts of he bodies.
But the reality is - the oncologist has told my brother-in-law that depending on how well she responds to her therapy, she has 2 years at best. I told my family that we all need to hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
I am back home in MT now but I will continue to pray for her and will remain hopeful for a miracle.

Thanks BR. It has spread throughout but the oncologist is hoping to control spread ... but it's too early to assess any responses to the treatment process.
