Yeah, i have been watching that one.
That rice is nothing in the world of custom knives. I know makers
that make 100k knives on a regular basis.
Several makers are back logged for years for 10k pocket knives.
I've ehard some makers say that their clients are usually professionals
thzt like to brag "I gave more for this pocket knife than you gave for
your car". It's all about braggin' rights.0 -

I saw that one too! I've seen some of his knives, and they are UNBELIEVABLE!! Worth more than a nice gun or four? I don't know.... but they are beautiful!! I also saw a video of the processes they use for their knives. It's very interesting. Just a little out of my price range!! 0 -

Buster Warenski
and in the 50k range would be Michael Walker.
I'm tellin' ya, custom knives is a world all it's own. I've been to
shows
where there are dignitaries walking around with armed guards that
are carrying briefcases handcuffed to their wrists.
Some movie stars and country leaders are big knife buffs.
I know one maker (that shall remain nameless) that makes 100k knives
for the leader of one country on a regular basis, and the leader of
this country has him over as a guest frequently. The maker says this
buyer will not allow any pictures to be taken, and don't want his
ownership of these to be public knowledge. He said this guy has a
huge underground museum of sorts chock full of veryyy high end antique
and pricey weaponry. The knives/swords he makes for this guy, of
course has several thousand dollars worth of gems and gold.
I've been to shows and seen oversea buyers at a makers table that had
came to this country for the purchase of ONE knife.
There some makers at these shows that people are clamoring around
their table paying $100.ea for just a chance (lottery) to buy one
of their knives.
I know of another maker that was employed for like 20yrs. making high
end knives for a museum owner, and that's all he did..for 20yrs.
I'm tellin ya, a world all it's own.

Are you familiar with Terry Treutel? TAT cusom knives? I have one about 20 years old that is my FAVORITE hunting knife. My wife gave it to me years ago and I know she paid more than we could afford at the time for it! I heard he's retired but I don't know for sure........0 -

That's his stuff alright! And here I thought he was retired!!
Mine is similar to the pro hunter. My scales are big horn sheep horn.
It holds an edge like no other knife I've ever seen or used. For years, I would ship the knife back to him every 2-3 years and he would sharpen it and return it to me for no charge!!
