    It's a good little rifle.


    If you want to scope that thing, then this might fitt your bill..

    You can find some Marlin 94-95 front and reat mounts for it - so it'll be easier to mount on the 1895.


    Or you could put a Vernier-sight rear and a Globe front sight on it... - Dixie Gunworks has a Pedersoli set for 50 or 60 dollars that'll fit.


    I've ordered both scope and the Vernier sight set - and look forward to getting it.

    i can't put a scope on it because my buddies will make fun of me, when we go deer hunting. we have to use iron sight on our rifles.

    I kind of like this sight... if it has to be iron sights...

    The sight is a Vernier Tang Sight, P/N EP0711 and sells for around $50.00 from Dixie Gun Works.

    I love my 1895 and I've always had a scope on it. Old 4X Weaver, never been able to hurt it. I've shot the same rifle since 1976. If you can't kill it with a 45/70 you better bend over and kiss it goodbye because little else will. Dave

    That's right buddy, no scopes! However, if you choose to walk in and hunt, we will allow you to have your scope. Nice gun Tim, can't wait to shoot it.

    It will stop a griz, too. Instead of an open sight, consider a peep. Old farts like me can't wrap their eyeballs around a rear sight, front sight, and target all at the same time.

    A guide gun with a ghost ring peep would make a he** of an urban SHTF tool.
