pistol advice

well i dont know so ill ask here .i am looking at a group of pistols for sale ,i know a little about them but have a few q's.

2 are the the smith and wesson performance center guns ,whats special about these guns and are they worth the extra money ?

the first is a 945 ,all black and a really nice looker .what it worth used ?

next is a simalar looking gun in forty cal .this one doesnt seem to be on the 1911 platform . what it worth used but not fired ?

what is different about a colt 45 ,80 series ? it is standard size and single stack mag .value ?

next is a 10 mm colt ? i am not familar with the 10 mm cartridge ,is this a good caliber ? the gun is my favorite next to the 945 . this one is stainlessa nd i think a delta . value used ?

    HD, post the model numbers and % condition, without those together no one can give you much of a value.

    i thought it a pretty straight forward question ? i was thinking some of this boards members mite own one of these guns and have an opinion to share or have more knowledge on one of the questions ?

    he dog , i didnt note the models numbers but can supply what i remember .

    s&w 945 @ 90% , all black ,a few nicks in frame

    s&w 410 in 40 cal ,like new ,not fired ,all black

    colt 45 ,series 80 ,90 % , all black

    colt (?)delta 10mm in stainless, 90%

    The Performance Center revolver I am saving for goes for $1300, and I think it is probably over priced, but I don't much care.

    10mm is a good enough cartridge, between the 9mm and the .40, that was once the FBI choice. Some love it.

    the colt delta elite will bring close to 800-1000 $ by itself always depends on condition,..I have one very collectible,.made from 87-96 only,

    945 pc blue..there were diff. barrel lengths 4"-5" they have been worked over and refined by the PC lots of little details on fitting and function.ie: trigger work,some with bobbed hammer,polished feed ramp,beveled mag well etc,.800-900 dollar range depending on condition,unless its a 945-1 blue book says 100%-1600.00 98%-1150.00 95%-1025.00 but probably not they have a tu-tone finish

    40sw need model no. it should be on the slide..ie 4013 4006 etc. stainless steel or blued..I'm going to say its ss..probably a 4006 many diff versions, 4006 shorty forty msr prices new went from 1025.00-1500.00

    colt 45 80 series..single stack 7-8 rds,.same size I believe as the 70 series..5" barrel blued or ss?..not sure about the diff.between the 70 vs 80 series..550->

    the PC guns should have thier pc cases/aluminum/with them..and two mags..the blue book doesn't give used or new prices on PC guns..do a search on GB for the same gun with the model no..and compare yours with the condition of the ones for sale..judge accordingly...my .2..Loko

    edit..blue list the 410 model at 4"bar,10-11 shot mag..100%-525.00 98%-370.00 95%-275.00..no PC models listed as 410 only 4 digits 4006 etc..

    I was a LE officer in 1990 when our dept bought and issued 10mm S&W model 1006s. I don't know if it was the gun or the 10mm caliber itself, but our scores dropped dramatically and we discovered that those guns worked much more effectively under water as trotline weights!! I've never fired another 10mm pistol so I don't know if Colt would be any better.

    I can give my opinion about the Model 410, its a very durable basic service type .40 cal handgun that would fit the needs for self defense and plinking alike. Good Luck!!

    alot of people have trouble grouping 10mms for one reason I believe its a powerhouse of a round..more recoil and stopping power than the .45 and if someone is used to shooting a 9mm or 40sw then you probably shot right over the targets,..10mm is a different beast but tameable...hang on with both hands and use proper stances..practice..practice practice...alot of women officers and FBI agents couldn't handle the recoil so they went with the 40sw and smaller rds...Loko..that gun is only going to go up in price HD..[colt delta elite]..look them up on GB...Loko

    thanks loko , looks like ill be owning them guns .all are very reasonably priced ,and in excellant shape .owner is moving out of state and is downsizing for the move .he's got more so i mite be asking more q's
