quote:Why would any terrorist want to come to the most power fullest nation to blow something up?
I don't know, ask one of the 9/11 hijackers.

quote:Finally, I just want to say that there is a candidate who is for the Constitution, for Liberty, for a Sovereign Nation. Ok who is this person and how do you know he's for the things he says he is? If that person's on the ballot in Nov. I'll vote for him.

How do I answer you without it getting moved to politics as soon as I put a name to it. I figured that there has been enough talk about this person that everyone should know who I am talking about.

Here's a clue. If you are really unfamiliar with him take time to get to know him.

I'll make it easier. He is the ONLY one whose record doesn't prove he's a LIAR! It's proves he's the only honest one running.

War. I served in war. I know a little bit about war. I know it's no fun, and lives are lost. I've read post here where some of you cannot support a candidate who would end this war immediately. Some are afraid that the terrorist would follow us here and create havoc on our own soil. To me,I don't see it. Why would any terrorist want to come to the most power fullest nation to blow something up? With all our troops at home and our borders secure, how would they get in? And let me ask. If Russia or China decided to just drop in on our soil and build a few bases and started to push us around, wouldn't you be fighting mad? Don't you think that if we left the Middle East, who by the way has been set in their ways for thousands of years would just kinda settle down and fight between themselves like they always have? In reality, what are we fighting for over there? Our government has put this fear into people about terrorist.

Well put, Sarge. Too bad Bush didn't hire you as his national security adviser 7 years ago.

There will also be disappointment and mistrust in the voting process in some areas. After the recounts, etc. of '00 and '04, and now that groups in *other countries* are pointing out the flaws in the common systems, as well as groups like blackboxvoting.org posting info (see slashdot.org or my posts in the politics forum for info) on how easy and untraceable it is to change votes, etc.

Then again, it was dissatisfaction with the voting process that caused the Battle of Athens,TN in '46.

    +1

Personal ethics, morals and integrity dictate nothing less for me.

Take all your scare tactics, your "bogeyman" arguments and the overused "yeah, but if you don't vote for Skippy, Hitlery will win" crap and stick it somewhere dark and smelly.

I am not playing that game.[;)]

"Just look at the number of you all that are doing this. Do you realize that this is what our government wants? They have created this division among the people so they can put anyone into office they want, who will go along with the big scheme of things. Everyone has their own reason to support or not to support a candidate, and with all this bickering, we are loosing our freedoms, liberty, and our sovereignty. Wouldn't it be wonderful if our voices would be heard again and our representatives would do what they are elected to do, is represent We The People?""

You mean like they're been doing for years..?[:(]

The Republicon's and Demoncrats ran themselves into a big huge hole.

They axed the military and Federal workforce to a point that there may not be enough there to support the whole operation.

Don't count on those Guard and Reserves to vote Republicon's.....after getting screwed into being a fulltime Federal military force and not getting a retirement check until they are dead.....they aint happy campers.

Thus why Sarge's candidate has gotten the most support from the US military.

    DoD is all FUBAR'd.

... about the 1993 World Trade Center bombing (February 26, 1993). For that one you might want to ask al-Qaeda or the group of conspirators including Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmad Ajaj.

... about September 11, 2001 when al-Qaeda was actually successful in bringing down both World Trade Center Towers. Again ask your question of al-Qaeda, Zacarias Moussaoui, or Khalid Sheikh Mohammed

ok old colts, then here's a question taking us to a logical conclusion. What about the wide open totally un-secure borders????? There is nothing to stop them, if they really want to do something "over here"

Get real! Anytime they want to, they can do something. If they wanted to they would have. They know it would provide a crippling blow to morale stateside, so why don't they? I guess they just plain don't want to.

The government said we need to be afraid for our lives, and then hoped we would be willfully ignorant of the obvious border problem. What a load of sh__. But, it worked. Gimmee a freekin' break! I am going to choose NOT to be afraid of them, against the governments wishes. I am going to desire to KEEP my liberties, against the governments wishes. And I am going to vote for the ONLY honest, non-globalist controlled candidate, against the governments wishes!!!! The government can take their lies that are getting the common folks (our sons and daughters) killed, and they can piss off!

jpwolf, I was addressing sarge3ad's question that I put in bold type, perhaps you missed that point in your exuberance to once again try to tell everyone how right you are and how wrong we are despite the fact you have no idea who we are voting for. Unless you have compelling evidence to the contrary, those events actually happened and can happen again even if we do pull all troops out of Iraq!

Sorry if I mistook your intent. I re-read your post and still the wording has me thinking my reply was correct, so, I guess your words are confusing me? The post directly above , the last line, makes sense to me, still confused on the rest?? Sounds like you are trying to make the case for the "over there" argument to me (except for the very last line)???

JP, the point I was making is we were hit on our soil before we went into Iraq, so simply bringing our troops home immediately probably won't make a difference to a radical terrorist group that hates us and everything we stand for. We absolutely need to secure our borders, but I think it involves much more than just strategic placement of personnel. I want to see us out of Iraq as soon as possible, but I do not support immediate unconditional withdrawal.

Sorry Old-Colts, but I have to agree with the Wolf. It was a cake walk for these terrorist to come into this country, take flying lessons on how to take off and fly a plane. Our security was down, and our intel screwed up. The Feds were alerted to these guys prior to 9-11, but fail miserably. The reports and Intel were blown off.

If we were to monitor our borders and ask questions of those who come from abroad, then common scense would prevent anymore terrorist attacks on this soil.

Our government knows that the fear factor works on the American people. This is good for the government who want to destroy our liberties. While they have us scared that we will be hit with another terrorist attack, the president is in his office making out new executive orders, and congress new laws for so called National Security, and the American public fall into this scheme. In actuality, this is the beginning ways of our goverment to control the masses. Think about it. If our goverment was truly worried about terrorist hitting here in the United States, they would have secured the borders, and again you would see our national guard forces locked and loaded and patrolling the borders by land and air. All of this is not happeening, is it?

An immediate unconditional withdrawal is what we need. Think about it. They have to be mostly pissed off about us just being there on their holy ground. Religion is their most prized possession, and when we show up there and push our western ideas on them, well that could piss anyone off who has been living the way they have for thousands of years. Get out, leave them alone, gain alittle diplomacy, and respect, and they'll quit trying to terrorise us.

No problem Sarge, I appreciate your response and perspective, I just think it is more complicated than just bringing troops home immediately.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one, so no use in me beating a dead horse any longer!

Well, I have to tell you a good honest deabate is how we learn and mature. This only works if we can control our emotions and refrain from calling each other names. I really try to approach things at least with some common scense. Thanks for your insight too.

If some of the others would adhere to those principals perhaps more forum members would be willing to debate the issues. Unfortunately, personal attacks seem to come out of nowhere and simply turn people away, thus references to the Politics Forum as the Dark Side. Sadly, it crosses over to the General Forum too!

I was just thinking of how one democratic candidate could help our educational system if he were prez, by ensuring any and all monies found their way to universities like the 34 million he had earmarked for them. Building proper thinking is costly, but has paid huge dividends.

In my opinion cordial, constructive, and informative sharing of facts, opinions, and beliefs is the cornerstone of the process we are discussing. I would expand further, but I don't want to say something that will result in this thread growing legs and moving! [:D]

I know what you mean about civility. I am jus afraid that one more poor choice, and the "process" will be history, because we will be history. As you know, I believe there is only one choice to stop the trainwreck. And I find it difficult to accept that others refuse to see the logic. The old "do the same thing, and expect a different result" is craziness.
